  1. I thought we could have thrown some more sideline passes to get in field goal range at the end of regulation. We needed to stop The UW RB in OT, and we didn't. We needed to score a TD and kick an extra point and we didn't. Still so proud of this team and coaching staff.
  2. That would only be true if Bo had Wisconsin's number...he didn't come close to that.
  3. It is a good place to get a few laughs and . We could be on a 30 game win streak and if we didn't win every game 151-0 then we are the worst Top 10 team in the history of college football. Before internet message boards in the early-mid 90's just about every fan said this very thing back then with close victories to lesser teams.
  4. That's fair, and that's where I basically came in. While the sideline freak outs got old, I wasn't too offended by them. It is not unreasonable at all, I don't think. You get to a certain point each year that becomes the baseline. Bo seemed to hit that all the time but that just made us fans want more, that is how it works, especially at big time programs. If you look at how many opportunities there were for Bo to turn the proverbial corner with the team he failed each and every time. Many were just bad luck or even once instance of very questionable calls in a game that went against us.
  5. Because Bo never showed signs of progress. Regardless of whether or not it's to the point we'd like, 9-3 after 6-7 is progress. Progress leads to better results. Anyways, I've thought all season that Minnesota is going to be the biggest trap game. That game more than anything makes me see 9-3 as a possibility. So, what happens if NU goes 7-5 or 8-4 in 2017, which I think is very possible with how many key contributors on offense that are gone after this year. Is that still progress? Look, I am really enjoying this year so far, but it will be disappointing if NU doesn't go at least 10-2. I think 7-5 or 8-4 next year is a distinct possibility with a new QB taking the helm alone. Going back to this season, it all starts up front. Our O-line which was not a great strength even when healthy is banged up. Our D-line has had to replace 2 anchors. 9-3 this season seems far more likely than 10-2. I'll take 10-2 or even 11-1 though! The staff seems to be building a good recruiting class of athletes that better fits their schemes. It is going to take a few more recruiting classes and those recruits to gain some playing experience. Even after that happens, you still have to have good team chemistry and not too many key injuries.
  6. In the last 10 years they have one 7 games once and 6 games once. The other 8 years they have been under 6 wins. They have 44 wins in the last 10 years. Purdue has 48 wins (one of those at the expense of Nebraska) This is not a "trap" game because Indiana is good... Did you get raped in Lafayette that day? You have an awful lot of angst built up for such a totally irrelevant, meaningless afternoon.Meaningless to whom? Was the MSU win that same season meaningful? Anywho...why are we making out Indiana to be some good team? you just seem to always have some smartass comment about our loss to purdue last year. Like its some overwriting narrative of significance. Which it isnt. We had a bad day. Didnt give a sh#t. And lost badly to a bad team. Obviously that loss doesnt repreent anything. As far as iniana goes. I dont know. I expect it to go bout like NW and Illinois. Ypu just watch how the goalposts move tho. Right now folks are propping up indiana in order to justify their own pessimism for our team. But it wont be consistent. The second we win by 2-3 scores the narrative will change. " but its just indiana" theyll say. The Purdue loss was horrid If they don't beat Indiana by 14 or more it will be bad. Period. I think it will be like NW and Illinois too. Agree, Don't agree. What?
  7. The Illinois game was far closer than the score indicated. We should have beaten Northwestern handily, but instead it was very close due to the 2 turnovers at the goal line. The Oregon win isn't looking as good either. Nobody is being negative...we are just being cautiously optimistic because we all know we do not have all the pieces together and Indiana has proven they are a much improved team. I also do not predict a meltdown on here if we lose to Indiana...unless it is by 4 TDs. If we beat Indiana by a point, I will be ecstatic. I am enjoying the season so far and will continue to do so even after losses. I like how this team is being coached and carries itself.
  8. Eric Crouch and it is not even debatable. I see no mentions of Steve Taylor. He was a very good runner and I would put Scott Frost above Frazier. Everyone remembers the run against Florida, but Frost also had some big runs and punished tacklers. Crouch Martinez (when he didn't fumble and was healthy) Frost Frazier Lord-Taylor
  9. I guess it depends on how high you are rating the coaching position at these schools to begin with. The author couldn't get past the geographical challenges of recruiting to Nebraska apparently.
  10. Corso should have learned from his comments/predictions from the prior year. "Baron Miles is so short that I can eat spaghetti off of his head". He seemed to defend Miami's receivers very well.
  11. Same. Surprised at the low negative-positive in this poll. To be fair....there are some who were extremely negative who are not posting very much or none at all anymore. Very true. I am happy to be eating crow. We are 5-0, but we still have a 9-3 team. Recruiting is improving. Sticking with Riley through thick and thin.
  12. Same. Surprised at the low negative-positive in this poll.
  13. I was a harsh critic of the hire and especially when things looked really bad. I began to change my tune after the Michigan St. game. I figured we had zero chance of winning. We seem to be on a winning course. There are going to be challenges ahead no doubt. If Armstrong goes down, we are in serious trouble. You can't blame Riley for things like that. We are also going to have a rough patch here and there too. Patience. Trust in Riley.
  14. I really thought Callahan had turned the corner after the bowl in over Michigan. I really thought Pelini had turned the corner after our bowl win over Arizona. This one however feels different since it is not a bowl game. I think the turning point from the brink of disaster was the Michigan St. win. The UCLA win also felt like we were beginning to turn the corner. It is too early to tell and an Armstrong injury would really crush this team's potential.
  15. If he kicks them all they get a tie. Or, like the announcers, are we only going to criticize the plays that didn't work, and not the same ones that did? they win if the kick the rest, they scored 5 td's , got 1 2 pointer, left 4 points if they kick the rest. they win 36-35 if my math is correct This is great logic if you know what the outcome of the game is going to be. The only reason people are second guessing Oregon's going for 2 throughout the game was Nebraska's ability to stop those conversions. Oregon is notorious for often going for 2 point conversions.
  16. I will probably catch grief for this, but if he is analyzing a team/game that you do not have an emotional attachment to, he is pretty good. If we get on a roll and get into the playoff discussion, we May get some respect.
  17. If you listened to the post game locker room show on AM 590 the players really talked up Prukop. The guy ran really tough and played a good game.
  18. The one thing I do not like about the depth chart above is the offensive/defensive starts on both of the lines. Very scary! The coaches certainly have their work cut out for them this season.
  19. What was your basis for wanting him fired? On record alone? Is a single .500 or losing season a deal breaker?
  20. 3 MAC East Championships when prior coaches had 0. He got them to a bowl for the first time since 1968 in 2007. Considering how bad Ohio Bobcat football was, Solich has definitely made them competitive. I don't think it is easy to win there.
  21. How's about all of the sand they dump in west Omaha? It is only needed on hills, and those trucks dump enough of it to make Omaha Beach. Not to mention how much gets in the garage, your house and making turns dangerous on two wheeled vehicles...
  22. This recruitment reminded me so much of Andrus Peat, well except the whole good guys won part. I am a lot more comfortable today with the Riley hire. Him & his staff have done a better job recruiting then I remember Pelini ever doing. The last class had a very bad end with no DL's in it, but Riley was quick to do what needed to be done. My only concern with him/staff now is play calling & really we have only seen 1 season of play calling. I was pretty critical of the staff early on. The low point was the Purdue game. I just didn't see the team rebounding at all, and thought we were in a spiral. Then Michigan St. I really like the direction that this team is heading with this leadership.
  23. There goes ESPN again...with this crazy agenda that losing to Purdue was some sort of "bottoming out" situation...Do the math! NU started a backup QB and still basically out gained Purdue. Plus, if you subtract the turnovers and subtract the toxicness it was basically a Husker win. We were down 42-16 at one point to Purdue... I cannot think of any situation that is any lower than that. That is rock bottom.
