    Bob Devaney went 9 - 2 his first year. Just keepin the record straight. And won the conference in his 2nd, 3rd and 4th seasons. Won it outright 7 of 11 years and share of it one other year.

    Yes minus the outcome we all had a huge blast. Boys got to shake Hands with Bell, AA, Cotton, and J Mitchel in the tunnel while they were waiting to go out for senior day. Just the whole 3 days we spent there was amazing. Had my wife looking for houses lol. if only there was jobs in my line of work there. The amazing golfball whacker guy?

    I come up with 8-17 for Bo. Losses in his last 6 of 7. Amazing we all get different numbers. We need to go back to math class you guys.

    I only have TOG, based on rankings on schedule of huskers.com, here's what it is: Osborne in first 7 seasons, 16-12 (7 of 12 losses were to Oklahoma) Solich in 6 seasons, 11-14 (lost 7 straight at end of 2001 season, and all ranked teams in 2002) Callahan in 4 seasons, 2-10 (lost last 6) Pelini in 7 seasons, 8-18 (lost 5 of last 6) Osborne's record is deceiving as the AP Poll, which I believe is what huskers.com uses, only had a top 20 for most of his career. I think it was 1989 when the AP expanded their poll to 25 teams. Gotta love the people that talk smack on how weak the schedule was when we were in the B8. Weird, more ranked teams played during that time - in lesser games - compared to the vaunted days of the B12 and B1G. Ding ding ding

    Probably depends which poll you're referring to and if you're looking at final ranking vs ranking at the time? I just assumed people could count but maybe they're wrong.

    Just two examples of coaches who failed. I mean it's totally possible our next coach wins 6 games regularly and flames out. But at some point you have to take the risk, right? You never know unless you try. I think we have enough data points with Bo to know that we're probably several years away from a conference championship (assuming he'd ever get there). I like the idea of taking the risk.

      I know. But these younger folks don't know our history at all so they think this is great. The most wrong thing was comparing him to Devaney and others. Devaney won the conference outright 7 out of 11 years and had a share in one other year. Plus 2 national titles. Gimme a break.
