Was thinking of doing a series of posts during the off season on the psychological (scientific) explanation of why HCSF's coaching methods work and work well. Don't want to put effort into it if people wouldn't be interested though. Would folks be interested?

@krc1995 I'm a professor of psychology. I approach the field from a behaviorist background. Most of what I'll be talking about builds upon the work of B.F. Skinner. I can include citations of people really want, but that doesn't feel like the best use of anyone's time.
Here are two good basic background type books:
Principles of Behavior - Dick Malott If you don't have a sophisticated understanding of behavior analysis this is probably the best book for getting you up to speed. It's quirky because Malott is a strange dude, but it's a really good book. Unfortunately, it's pretty pricey.Behavior Modification: Principles and Procedures - Ray Miltenberger This is another really good book on behavior analysis. It's more of an applied behavior analysis book but will have significant overlap with the Dick Malott book.About Behaviorism by Skinner is good but dated. I'll also be incorporating various common themes from more recent research.

@Comfortably Numb I'll see what I can do. I would have to guess a little more at their methods, but HCSF has given pretty explicit statements on what they do at the macro level. There are also things happening behind closed doors that I think add context, but it's an interesting exercise.

Are Flat Earthers real? Do you personally know anyone who believes the earth is flat? LINK

I'm just going to leave these here. I have nothing to contribute to this. I work in higher ed, we don't get a lot of folks that maintain these beliefs for long.

Please chime in on this............do you follow your heart or your mind on something when you need to make a decision on something pretty important.

Strive for "wisemind" https://www.dbtselfhelp.com/html/mind_states.html
If you follow one or the other, things get messy.

Jalen Hurts says he's going to transfer if he doesn't win the starting job
-
@ColoradoHusk Thanks for the correction. In my mind Hurts was a grad transfer.

If the force is for everyone, why can only white humans use it?
-
@commando using a lightsaber has nothing to do with the force. They're just the weapon of choice for most force users.

Mods... doesn’t this vs stuff need to end?

The Union on campus has ousted Runza, and is replacing it with Steak N Shake and a Chik-fil-A. I think that'll be the only Steak N Shake in Nebraska.
-
@ZRod just because it's in a union doesn't make it communist.

Passed the 4 hour license exam for psychology with flying colors today.

@ladyhawke I'm a professor. I love it. As of today, I have 14 projects up and running and teaching 2-3 classes a semester. School psych isn't my jam, but yeah we need good ones.

Best part is even if I move, you don't have to retake it!
@Comfortably Numb, come on, saying that is only like 85% of my job.

Bought the plane tickets for Ann Arbor today! My dad is a Michigan fan, so this should be interesting

Has anyone worked more than one job at a given time? Mine was 3 ( 1 full time job and 2 part time jobs)
-
@teachercd yeah, spent my highschool and undergrad days in Milwaukee. Also spent a year in Madison later in life. Onion give it away?

Anybody heard anything about Joe Burrow possibly joining team? Seems may be looking to transfer depending on how tOSU spring goes. Also, sounds like he may graduate soon, so that would play into being able to transfer without having to sit out. Some smoke out there from things I'm hearing.

Seems like I've got a lot of projects going on right now, but I'm not doing a very good job of getting any of them done.

Ethan Piper is N, but he needs to be educated on what the official school colors are.

I think it's totally rude of my boss to schedule a meeting during the game. Wont even be able to check scores.

I wonder what my post count would be if I submitted every post I typed up

Is the Michigan game now a q1 win? Or is that only calculated at the time of playing them?

Thanks to everyone who voted for me, I'm proud to be part of our new look offense as a WR!
