  1. Not labor, his aquarium was leaking all over the floor. They just don't have aquarium guys in Florida like they do around here.
  2. If you want a top tier job, you are going to have to deal with the vitriol and overscrutinizing. Nebraska isn't alone in that. Any potential landing spot for Frost is going to be the same: Nebraska, Florida, Tennessee, A&M. The one thing we have going for us is that we will probably (or maybe hopefully) be willing to give him a little more time and leniency since he is coming home. He doesn't have the goodwill built up at other schools like he does here.
  3. I'm more worried about what happens after the streak ends. I'm worried we are going to see a very empty stadium. I get the feeling that a lot of people only go because of the streak and the perception of it being a hot ticket and the thing to do in town. This is the biggest reason I think we need Scott Frost. He is probably the only guy we can get who would truly energize the entire program.
  4. I kinda think this is fair game. Their wedding was published online already so it's not like it's private information. I've also heard that his wife would prefer to stay in Florida so I think it's valid to wonder where she is from.
  5. I was told there would be cupcakes. Fire Riley!
  6. I think the situation is out of the university's hands all together. If we really want Frost, and there doesn't appear to be any reason why he wouldn't be our #1 choice at this point, we will have to make a move whenever he is available. He is going to be one of the hottest coaches if he keeps up his success and we will miss out on him if we don't have an opening. If Frost isn't interested or doesn't want to move on yet, then I am all for giving Riley more time but I don't think there's much of an option if it comes down to Frost or a 4th year for Riley.
  7. Has it been mentioned at all that not only did our O-line shut down Rolland-Jones, but I never heard him mentioned in a play?  I heard a lot about him leading up to the game, but it doesn't seem like any credit was given for shutting him down.

I didn't think he got a sack.  Forget what I said if he had one.  I thought he ended with just a couple tackles.

Caleb Caston got the sack. 26 second mark.

Well darn it! That truth just doesn't fit the narrative some want to portray.

  8. Is it safe to enter or should I wait until after we beat Oregon?

Still a little doom and gloomy. Post at your own risk.

I'd wait. If we're boatraced out of Eugene, then you probably won't have to worry, as the board will melt down and chaos will descend upon the land.

You should totally wait until we beat Oregon.

  9. Well I guess I meant to say Lincoln isn't just cornfields. When I had friends come visit me while I was at school every one of them was surprised by how big of a city it really is. I don't think anyone expects it to have a downtown area with buildings more than 5 stories. Maybe insulting wasn't the best word and I was probably digging too deep on that anyway.
  10. Lincoln can be better than expected without making it seem like it's in the middle of cornfields. Your comparison is a little insulting
  11. Don't forget those of us who spent years of our lives recruiting in NCAA on Playstation. This guy has 4 stars, I want him, I'll get him.
  12. I like how they have the 1995 Orange Bowl listed as a home game.
  13. I was there 2 years ago but didn't get to any bars since I was with the family. We did some of the official "tailgating" around the stadium and it was pretty awful. There was just no energy or excitement for the game. It was a lot like the game actually. Maybe with it being a night game things will pick up and the bars should definitely have more life, but overall this was one of the worst game atmospheres I've been around.
  14. I don't think that interviewer knows the meaning of "word association". Painful interview to watch, except for the Nebraska part.
  15. Major lack of excitement at the media day press conference. Didn't even have enough questions to fill the time. Even Brohm at Purdue used the whole time.

The thing is that the side sessions are SO HARD to hear. Like insanely difficult - and somehow they made it worse this year.

That's definitely where the more interesting stuff happens but unless you stand there for an hour with a recorder and then listen through the audio later, you can barely hear a word spoken by anyone popular.

Trying to get to Riley, Fleck and the NU players today to ask about the chair. If I can accomplish those three I'm not even going to bother trying to hear anyone else it's such a chore.

The big room is intimidating, the individual podium stuff is an overcrowded marketplace. Weird dichotomy.

Honestly, I've never really paid that much attention to the live press conference. I just read the quotes online. I was bored at work and decided to watch. It's all making sense to me know that the good stuff is coming out later.

  16. This award lost all credibility when Henery wasn't even named as a finalist in 2010. He's one of my all time favorite players. I have a fetish for kickers.
  17. The Bud Crawford fight will be the biggest event the PBA will ever hold. Is there anything that could even compare to this?

His last fight was a headliner at Madison Square Garden. This is a bigger fight than that.

I guess that's a pretty big deal. I didn't give it much credit initially because boxing is only a fraction of what it used to be and I'd never heard of the guy before. How'd they get a fight like that in Lincoln?

He's a local kid who takes less money to fight in his backyard to promote Omaha, NU, even CU, and now Lincoln. He has fought in MSG and in Dallas too, but mostly fights out of Omaha after becoming world champ.

  18. Keyshawn Jr. has already contributed more to the program than a lot of 4 year players. He got the ball rolling with all this recruiting hype. I hope he gets everything straightened out so he can be part of the results.
  19. 2010 Missouri game. This was the loudest I have ever heard the stadium during the day. The goal line stand in the 3rd quarter is an overlooked part of that game. Stuffed 3 straight plays from the 1 and I would have loved to see them take that 4th shot if it wasn't for the false start. 2009 Missouri would have been up there if I watched it on TV but it was 3 quarters of being absolutely miserable in the cold rain before we started to play. The 4th quarter definitely made it all worth it but it can't be my favorite since it made me feel awful for 3 quarters. However, TO walked past us before the game under the stadium and had a Nebraska equipment manager go into the official semi truck to get me and my soon to be wife some ponchos. Maybe this game should be ranked higher. 1997 Missouri was an awesome game but I couldn't believe that we were having so much trouble beating a bad Mizzou team. It was more stressful than enjoyable for me.
