I'm pretty sure at least once he ran by his man on the side line and disappeared off screen while the safety came down to support covering the TE. Kinda like the first play of the game with #84 that led to an INT Rhule said in his post-game press conference that many times WR’s are sent deep to mainly draw defenders away from the main target on the crossing route underneath about 10-20 yards down field. Since deep passes have a low percentage of completion, they aren’t the main target on the play. Even on Coleman’s TD catch, Bullock was running across the middle of the field, and is usually the #1 target on the play. Garrett McGuire told Rhule in the headset that Coleman would be wide open and he should be the first read. So it was good play calling by Satt, and good instincts by McGuire to recommend Coleman. Maybe that McGuire kid knows his stuff after all. 3 1 Quote Link to comment
I am I
So for Malachi, I watched that play on tape from many different angles and replays. He ran a good route. Used his stop /start, body angle and speed to get open. What I liked to see the most, and it’s an important detail, when the ball came to him he caught it with his hands, his arms stretched out slightly. Was a very pure hands catch. He didn’t let it get to his body and stomach and roll over into the end zone. He caught it standing up, feet in bounds, two hands on the ball. Left no room error or second looks. Was a nice two handed catch. We need to bomb it to him 2-4 times a game when the coverage is right and let him make plays. Fades, go routes, double moves off of PA, and yolo bombs could help take some pressure off 9 in the box defenses. Picture perfect play with great execution by him. Looking forward to seeing more of that as a threat. 3 Quote Link to comment
commando
after reading the last few pages i am convinced that Malachi is the best QB on the team. 5 1 Quote Link to comment
Scofrosghost
So Coleman has been open?? He has speed that can get behind defenses?? He can block?? Who would have thought… All joking aside it was good to see what this kid can do when he actually gets targeted. Good job HH… finally. Quote Link to comment

I think at least once it twice a game the offense should try and get Coleman into a one on one position and throw deep to him down the sidelines. Let him out athlete the DB. 1 Quote Link to comment
