Shadow_Husker
With Castille gone Who become's our short yardage back? And now do we see Suh in more fb type situations? Quote Link to comment
In the Deed the Glory
Collins Okafor, possibly? That is a great question. Quote Link to comment
In the Deed the Glory
Hey, just thought. Maybe LaTravis Washington???? He did used to be a LB, so he shouldn't shy away from contact. j/k.....maybe?!? Quote Link to comment
Shadow_Husker
Now U got me thinking Is it me or does it seem like 13 days is taking FOREVER Quote Link to comment
redout22
I could possibly see a fullback getting the ball then. But who knows. Quote Link to comment
Alex 4.0
CJ Zimmerer? although its not likely, it would be pretty sweet. Quote Link to comment
huskerjack23
Okafor or Ward. Quote Link to comment
melscott62
Okafor or Ward. helu.... id prefer him to q anyway Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt316
Ducky? no seriously Helu put on weight in order to be an every down back this offseason. He'll get every opportunity to get those carries. Quote Link to comment
huzkerbob
My guess would be that Burkhead/ Okafor will split reps behind Helu, similarly to the way Helu/ Castille split reps behind Lucky during their freshman year. Given Okafor's size and performance in the spring game, I would think he would be the likely candidate for the majority of short yardage carries. I guess we really won't know until FAU rolls into town. As if we nedded more question marks on the offensive side of the ball......... Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
Jeremy Wallace could see some PT. Quote Link to comment
huskerguy
Helu... Helu was a better short yardage back anyway IMO. I have always thought that, sure Castille was bigger, but he seemed to be better on toss' and sweeps where he could get a head of steam. Helu reminds me of Tiki Barber being a smaller guy who can really hammer out the short yardage stuff by just being patient and then finding the right hole and exploding through it for a few yards. knapplc
What about one of the TEs? We have some pretty big guys, like Dreu Young and Ryan Hill, who could hold on to the ball but who would be a load to take down in short yardage. Quote Link to comment
redout22
Yeah one of the TE's would be a good idea. Like Kyler Reed Quote Link to comment
huskerguy
being a big guy doesn't make a good short yardage back... we're fine Quote Link to comment
