Husker_Power
OWH TWO-SPORT QB Nebraska has a new quarterback on the roster, but he's a veteran of NU athletics. Joe Broekemeier joined the team Monday when the Huskers' roster expanded on the first day of the fall semester. He has been a member of the NU baseball team since 2006. Broekemeier redshirted in his first spring and sat out 2008 with a back injury before pitching in eight games last season. Broekemeier was a four-sport standout at Aurora (Neb.) High School. He has two seasons of remaining eligibility in football. Broekemeier is the seventh quarterback on the NU roster behind Zac Lee, Latravis Washington, Cody Green, Taylor Martinez, Ron Kellogg and Kody Spano, who is out for the year with a knee injury. We'll hear more about the new QB after practice tonight from offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Shawn Watson. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
I can see it now. Zac suffers from blood clots in his leg, Green's lung collapses, and the Broekemeiernator comes in against K-State and wins the game on handoffs to Helu. Quote Link to comment

Touchdown Tommie
Good for him....Knapplc, I really hope it does not come to that. We might be in a little trouble if that happens. Something like that can only happen once and as we all know, it has happened here already....if it does happen, we will all know that God is a Husker fan! Quote Link to comment
Red Storm Brewing
This guy is picking the wrong sport to be a two sport athlete in college. Joe was a HELL of a bball player. Should of hung with Doc and the boys the last two years, he probably could have played. Quote Link to comment
Kruzu
Despite watching/listening to nearly every (often brutal) Husker baseball game this year I can't think of this kid, but it's a season I could stand to forget. Hey the more the merrier so welcome to Div I football Broekemeyer! Quote Link to comment

The best third string QB in the history of the world. Yeah, a lot of QBs would have been 3rd team behind Tommy and Brook. The Turminator had a pretty good pair of QBs ahead of him. Among the best 1-2 pair ever. Quote Link to comment
T_O_Bull
The Huskers had a baseball player as a quarter back a number of years ago. His name was Turner Gill. T_O_B Quote Link to comment
ray233
The Huskers had a baseball player as a quarter back a number of years ago. His name was Turner Gill. T_O_B And last year too....his name was Joe Ganz: In addition to football, Ganz also lettered three times in baseball. In 2003, he batted .480 with seven homers and 38 RBIs as a shortstop. He hit .420 with eight homers and 45 RBIs to earn all-state honors as a senior. Quote Link to comment
