Army Husker
Bracket coverage on shipley with Amukamara/Safety. DE's keep contain. Get a push op the middle. KEEP A LB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD!!!!! This has been burning us more than I like the last few games...I'm thinking they hammer us here on Saturday. The question should be who is going to cover the middle of the field...and of course Shipley. Quote Link to comment
The Maudfather
As long as West isn't allowed to be within a 100yd radius of Shipley, I think I will retain my sanity. Quote Link to comment
Nexus
prince will take him, especially with dennards injuries lately but hagg doesn't get enough credit. i still think he's our best lock on corner. The thing that Hagg needs to get better at is when he's a 1/2 step behind the receiver, he doesn't look back to see where the ball is coming in. He's missed several opportunities to bat the ball away from the receiver whenever the ball sails over the top of him. Quote Link to comment
mitch7
Bracket coverage on shipley with Amukamara/Safety. DE's keep contain. Get a push op the middle. KEEP A LB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD!!!!! How well that LB in the middle of the field will determine whether our defense is successful or not. That middle of the field has been our downfall as of late and that is usually where Shipley works his magic. If we can take that away I like our chances at slowing down the Texas offense. I haven't been all that impressed with our run defense either. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
With the speed that Prince has I would put him on Shipley. Dude has some serious wheels......... Quote Link to comment

KEEP A LB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD!!!!! So basically the same game plan as V-Tech. I'm not talking about the last play either. Tyrod was able to get passes off he was just very inaccurate. Watch the film again and you will see it. This kind of thinking will just give McCoy time to find his 4 receivers. Against va tech we used a contain pass rush so that taylor would have to beat us with his arm. We will go after mccoy so he won't have as much time as taylor did. Quote Link to comment

Mccoy is just as much of a threat to run as Taylor was. Mccoy has a much better arm and accuracy. Quote Link to comment

Yes, pressure on McCoy, and eliminate YAC. We've been doing a great job of tackling receivers after the catch to limit the damage. We won't stop Shipley and Kirkendoll, but we can contain them. nhuskers5
I would stick Dennard on Shipley with maybe some over the top help from O'Hanlon, then put Amukamara on Kirkendoll since he's pretty good size. I would definitely pu Hagg one on one with somebody as well Quote Link to comment
WCHusker
Just have Asante get his personal foul at the very beginning of the game and knock him out of commission... As twisted as this, I think you are making a joke in regard to purposely hurting another player. If this happened They would lose Shipley but Asante would absolutely get tossed. It's the Big 12 Championship-the gloves are off. Suh doing the "ankle sit" tackle on McCoy wouldn't hurt our chances either. Quote Link to comment
beanman
This like to get thoughts containing Shipley most likely Gomes will match up against Shipley how do u think he will do I think we should put Suh on him on the first play and let him pummel him into the ground. Then he won't be a threat for the rest of the night. Quote Link to comment
predictionking
Quite honestly, too much is being made of this matchup. Texas is not going to kill us in the passing game. I'm actually more fearfull of Shipley in the return game. You all should be more concerned about NU formulating the ability to move the ball for positive yardage. Prince can handle Shipley, and the NU pass rush can get to McCoy because Texas can't run the football. But UT wins 15-2 or something like that because our offense vs. the Texas Defense is kind of like Texas State vs. the Texas defense. Quote Link to comment

I'm not worried about Shipley's return game because I seriously doubt Henery or Kunalic will give him the chance to field a catch. As for UT's running game, we can't sleep on it. McCoy will take advantage of the QB draw the same way that Reesing from KU did against us. If Reesing had some success with it against us, then surely McCoy can exploit us as well.
