hskerholic
I was brosing the Rivals site and noticed that NU has the 30th over all recruting class. If we get some of the major targets we are after I.E. Cooper, Owa, and Carnes we should jump some teams into the the top 25 with this small class. This class is turning out great. WVhuskerXX
Top 25 does not = "great" imo Quote Link to comment
GSG
Top 25 does not = "great" imo I think Top 25 = great high school players, but not necessarily great college players. Quote Link to comment
carlfense
I don't really care if the class is top 25 or not. I'm way more concerned what the coaches do with the talent brought in. I'll take Pelini's evaluation of talent and work ethic over a recruiting site any day. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
I think Top 25 is in the range. Top 25 recruiting classes year in year out, the difference between that and getting Top 10 classes year in year out is going to be pretty surmountable. Any team that consistently gets Top 25 should be content. Quote Link to comment
default_28
I was going to say that the ranking of this class didn't matter, but then I thought that if it was ranked top 5 I'd be running around pounding my chest yelling 'look at what I can do'. So, I guess rankings are only important for the people at the top of them. The rest of the teams just continue to take solace that they don't add coaching ability, team need, injuries, players leaving etc. into those rankings. So thirtieth or eightieth we still have a great shot at this class bringing home some Big XII hardware and maybe some BCS hardware. Quote Link to comment

caveman99
NU is 30th in class rank, but the various class sizes through that ranking off. Average Stars probably gives you a better look of who has the best class, according to RIVALS anyway. NU is averaging 3.22 Stars, good enough for 24th place. Quote Link to comment
huskerfan92
with Pete Carroll seemingly leaving USC wouldn't that give Nebraska a MUCH better chance to land Owa? that would help out this recruiting class a whole lot! Quote Link to comment

It helps...but not THAT much...I still think UCLA is the team to beat...not USC Quote Link to comment

I trust the coaches but wish that Cotton was asked to walk on rather than given a scholarship. That way we could have Simek in that spot. Quote Link to comment
EZ-E
The word is that Ashburn will be given a 4th star in the next evaluation period as he played extremely well this year. Mike Moudy is the other one that I have heard very well could move up to that 4 star range along with Ciante Evans and Quincy Enunwa all being on that 4 star bubble. So IF at least two of those kids get their upgrade and we add Cooper and Carnes our average stars will be 3.4 Quote Link to comment
mitch7
wasn't the 2005 class rated very highly??? How did that turn out. Sure we got some great players but more than half of them left early. Quote Link to comment

Cally was actually a pretty good recruiter believe it or not. He just couldn't quite put it together on the field where it counts. Quote Link to comment
