um...it's osborne, as in legendary NU coach tom osborne. and i doubt you'd find a single NU fan that doesn't want quality walk-ons. it seEms though that what you are referring to are the many NU fans that are tired of the complaining about almost any in-state scholarship offer due to the mistaken belief that any nebraska kid should and will walk-on.

Dude seriously? You know who I'm talking about. Is it necessary to correct spelling to make your point sound better? Should I point out your case sensitive mistakes to make mine?

sorry, i have a hard time taking someone seriously that can't spell the biggest name in nebraska football. and yes, i'm aware the spell checking is annoying (and that i could care less about capitalization). now that we've covered the important matters, let's get back to the part where you seem to think anyone from nebraska without 4 stars should walk-on. what about drew ott? should we have offered him now that he's a parade all-american? also, at what point do we just recognize that the coaches correctly decided that a kid was worth the scholarship, regardless of who offered the kid or what he was rated? should we have insisted crick walk-on?

You have no clue what you're talking about. I've never mentioned anything having to do with in-state kids receiving or not receiving scholarships. This debate started this morning and it was about specific kids receiving scholarships. I won't waste my time with you any further.

sorry if i misinterpreted your statement that "it's harder to take chances on those type of players unless they're willing to walk on and earn their scholarships, but that seams to be frowned upon by members of this board."

This year in wrestling, he is undeafeated and has pinned EVERYONE, His longest match has been ONE minute and FOUR seconds. He has five or six wins in UNDER 10 seconds. Manchild on the mat. If he hadn't been penalized in overtime in the finals his freshman year, he'd be an undefeated four time champ.

His footwork is amazing as is his agility and quickness for his size,

Schoff is scholly worthy. I pray to Leodis Flowers his talents do not ended up wasted in Lawrence under Charlie Weightwatcher.

I don't have a clue about Husker wrestling or wrestling scholarships, so maybe this a dumb question, but if he's that good a wrestler is a wrestling scholarship not an option? He might make sense as a duel sport option. For all I know Nebraska may have canceled its wrestling program so please forgive me in advance.

If you're asking can he get a wrestling scholarship and it not count against the football numbers the answer is no. If he has an athletic scholarship in any sport and he plays football, he counts against the max number of scholarships for both sports.
