I'm worried, Bo really looked at a loss for how he can get the defense to play. I don't get it either, because we've seen what he can do with the defense. I'm not solely blaming the coaches there... half the defense cant tackle, can't shed blocks, the d-line gets pushed back 3 yards every play. That's on players also. You could have the greatest defensive scheme in the world and if you don't tackle it won't work.

The offense, I've come around, since Martinez isn't doing crap with his legs anymore except running strait into people 5 yards down field and falling over (if he's lucky enough to not cough the ball up)... If he can't completely redo his throwing mechanics and decision making its time to ride the pine.

Someone suit up Suh and Ganz at halftime and sneak them into the lineup. This is embarrassing, making the 108th offense in the land look like a juggernaut, even with their suspended players out. Offensively, good god, its been inept since Ganz graduated. it's getting old.

that's also on the coaches. what are they doing at practice? and yes, i'm talkin' 'bout practice.

Yeah, it was at least two guys in coverage on Reed on that play. That's the kind of throw you make when they have nobody over the top.

Cannot get greedy...have to play the game smart. I don't like that call. Beck has to know Taylor has a penchant for forcing things into coverage, and that's way too deep in our own territory to do so.

Seriously, on these pass plays, we have to make Taylor's first read the checkdown. No other way about it.

That was ENTIRELY on Tim Beck/Bo Pelini. I swear to god, the next person that blames that play on Taylor.

He had no choice but to force a ball downfield based on what his coaches were asking. They ran a QB draw, then DIDN'T CALL A TIMEOUT, let 20 seconds run off the clock, and then called a vertical pass play.

If you're going to run the clock out, why pass? If you're trying to score, why let the clock run? To go to a checkdown receiver on that play would have contradicted his coaches' desire which apparently was to try and score, he had no choice but to go downfield if they wanted to score.

That was god-awful coaching, and nothing else.

Bo's supposed to be a Defensive guy, what happened?

He doesn't have Bill's talent to coach. These are the players that Bo has recruited and as you see he took us back to the dark days of the Solich. And before everyone starts the retarded "Bo good, Callahan bad" BS, just look at the facts. Bo was really good with the talent he was left, now that it's gone, we can't even score worthless points at the end of the game as everyone was complaining about under Bill. Our offense and defense totally suck now. Then you throw in his tantrums and it's obvious how this is going to end. But how long depends on when TO can admit that he made a mistake. And he still hasn't admitted that Frank was a mistake, so who knows when it will be.

This is a joke. Solich had a 7-7 season. The big attrocity was the inability for a football guru like steve pederson to realize that football had changed and expecting to be the conference champ every year was not realistic. Callahan was a bad coach. He provided us with two 5 win seasons in 4 years. You can't blame Solich recruits for that. Eh....too much other crap to discuss than this old garbage....

They are selling out to stop Burkhead, Taylor does have room to run if he keeps it. However, I really think Beck is not doing a good job of getting perimeter guys the ball, no screens, no play action, a end around with Marlowe. Coach Beck is making it really easy for the Bucks to defend our O. PLEASE MAKE BRAXTON MILLER THROW!!! But I'm not a coach for a reason...

All these offensive weapons, and they never touch the ball. This much talent is an OC's dream. Do something creative with it Beck.

What choice did Taylor have? He could have checked down to what gain? There would have been 15 seconds left with 70 yards still to go. If the coaches want to score, they HAVE to call a timeout instead of letting the clock run, otherwise they force what is basically a hail mary and sure interception, which is what happened.

If they just want Taylor to check down and let the clock run out, then why call a pass play at all?

I'm sorry, but I spent all week telling people to be patient with Taylor, so I'm not going to sit quietly when people criticize decisions that weren't on him, and I'm not going to sit quietly when he might be the ONLY player to show improvement after the Wisconsin game.

Taylor had the choice to not make a throw that was at high risk to be intercepted. He had the choice to play it safe and, even if it meant we wouldn't score, to not turn it over and give the ball to the other team at midfield with plenty of time. He had the choice to not hand OSU a golden opportunity to score 3 bonus points at the end of the half.

It is that simple.

It was basically a hail mary playcall. Does a QB have a choice to not go deep on that kind of play? The play ended with 15 seconds left. The coaches had let so much time run off the clock that the only way score was to throw a pass like that, and Beck CALLED a pass like that. If they were just going to check down, they should have used the timeout the play before.

You're basically saying that Taylor had a choice to completely ignore his coach's playcall.

I think your spot on. Making Miller throw is the key on D in my opinion. Dial up some blitzes as well....look at what Mich St did with the blitz.

I agree that the pick is on Taylor. It was a terrible, ill-advised, dumb-ass, inaccurate pass. Terrible.

Beck did basically invite him to do it though. If we learned anything last week, it might be that putting Taylor in that situation towards the end of the half when you could just sneak out without completely unraveling is a bad idea...

Fair enough......thank you.
