The Dude
Hell yeah, wasn't expecting a commit today. Between last year and this year, the future of the linebacker position looks extremely bright. Welcome Mr. Newby. Quote Link to comment
suigeneris
Awesome news. Great job by the staff, especially since it seemed like him and his family initially wanted him to stay close to home. Quote Link to comment

NUance
Nebraska hit it big this morning when Marcus Newby from Gaithersburg (Md.) Quince Orchard announced that he was a Cornhusker. The three-star recruit and the No. 25 outside linebacker gets high praise from his head coach Dave Mencarini. “Marcus instantly makes all of the other players around him better,” head coach Dave Mencarini said. “That is what all great players do. He has great passion and respect for the game and his players. Marcus announced his commitment to Nebraska to his team this morning before our workout before going public. He then went out and had a great workout. “Marcus just has such great passion and enthusiasm. He’s the most aggressive player that I have ever coaches and at the same time off the field he’s the most level-headed and great kid. Marcus is the best player that I have ever coached and that’s saying something because we have had some great ones. Marcus has the intangibles that you can’t coach.” LINK Nice little Scout article on Marcus. : Quote Link to comment
