A 69-year-old Spanish man was fined this week after officials discovered he hadn't shown up to work for at least six years, the Guardian reports. Ironically, the civil servant was discovered only when the deputy mayor attempted to give him an award for 20 years of "loyal and dedicated" service in 2010. “I thought, where is this man?" the Guardianquotes the deputy mayor. "Is he still there? Has he retired? Has he died?” According to the Independent, a legal case was launched against the man — Joaquín García — that year. It finally wrapped up this week, with García, who retired in 2011, losing an appeal and being issued a fine of approximately $30,000, the Times reports. That's the equivalent of one year's salary after taxes, and was the most that could legally be reclaimed.

The investigation into García determined he hadn't been to his office for at least six years—and possibly as long as 14 years — and had done "absolutely no work" between 2007 and 2010. He was supposed to be supervising the construction of a water treatment plant, the BBC reports. But the water company thought the city council was in charge of García, while the city council thought the water company was in charge of him. A water company manager admitted to not having seen García for years despite having an office across from him. García argues he was bullied and given a job with no actual work to do because of his socialist politics. As for what he did with all his free time: The Guardian reports he became "an avid reader of philosophy and an expert on the works of Spinoza." Van Gogh Documentary To Be First Fully Painted Feature Film Ever Made

A biopic about Van Gogh's tumultuous life and mysterious death entitled "Loving Vincent" is currently in the works, and the film will be made entirely of animated paintings in the swirling style of van Gogh's canvases. The trailer above shows a taste of the stunning intensity of paint brought to life.

There are over 120 of van Gogh's iconic paintings folded into the narrative, their inherent buzz of motion translating to literal movement thanks to the painstaking, hand-painted animation. The plot was woven together from 800 letters written by the artist himself, and features dramatic reconstructions of the events leading to his death.

One of the Husker staffers posted a picture of himself wearing two ties (a reference to Back to the Future II). Pic for reference:

Every picture I see of two ties online is side-by-side. What about wearing them front-to-back, with contrasting colors and one peeking out behind the other?

I mean ... what could possibly go wrong when you let a drunk stranger into your house ....

A 29-year-old woman was arrested last month after the Baker County Sheriff's Office investigated a report that she was in the shower with a 15-year-old boy.

Ciara Stokes, of Macclenny, was charged with lewd and lascivious act on a child and booked into the Baker County jail.
According to the police report, Stokes knocked on the door and the homeowner agreed to let her take a shower, and told her to lock up when she left because he was going to sleep. The man woke up about 90 minutes later when he heard noises and two voices coming from the bathroom.
When the father confronted her, she said nothing sexual went on while they took a shower. After he told her to leave, his son said she performed oral sex on him, Baker County deputies said.
The report goes on to say that Stokes admitted to investigators she went to the home while she was drunk and the 15-year-old boy came into the bathroom and kissed her while she was naked.
According to the report, Stokes said she pushed the boy away after he kissed her and denied performing oral sex on him. She said she doesn't remember anything else but knew, "It was a bad mistake."

She knocked at the door and asked to take a shower? Something tells me there's more to this story.
