clyde40
is weak against the run? They have been gashed on running plays all year. If he gets away from the run any point during the game he should be fired. He should be smart enough you expose a defense not go away from it. If there is one guaranteed, sure-fire way to lose this game, running it every single play and not going away from that no matter what is the way to do it. But Osborne did it! Quote Link to comment
zoogs
I would actually say we have a better chance to win this game by running it every single play than if we were to pass it every single play. Jarvis Jones would have a party in our backfield with the weakness of our OT play in passing situations. Well, yes, but football has been known to produce more...in-depth gameplans than either of those options Quote Link to comment

EZ-E
Anyone who thinks Beck hasn't done a great job as OC this year is flat out stupid, doesn't know what they are talking about, an doesn't know football. That is all. Beck will put us in the best place to win. 3 Quote Link to comment
skersfan
I never know if you are being serious anymore. Is this a fact or are you just spoofing us again? 2 Quote Link to comment
Huskerlambs
But it's so simple. All Beck has to do is divine from what he knows of Georgia: are they the sort of team who would put the focus into it's own weakness or strengths? Now, a clever team would put the focus into his own weakness, because they would know that only a great fool would attack whats proven to be a strength. Beck is not a great fool, so he can clearly not choose to attack the other teams strength. But Georgia must have known Beck was not a great fool, they would have counted on it, so Beck can clearly not attack Georgias weakness on D..... Hahaha! Brilliant! "You're trying to get me to give something away. It won't work." 1 Quote Link to comment

Dawg to the Bone
is weak against the run? They have been gashed on running plays all year. If he gets away from the run any point during the game he should be fired. He should be smart enough you expose a defense not go away from it. That's not a bad strategy if you can make it work. UGA has been pretty good against the run in the first qtr. Even Alabama didn't really start running until well into the 2nd qtr. The question is if it is not working initially will he keep at it? The other thing is that UGA has been scoring pretty well this year, so if, per chance, UGA gets ahead by a couple of runs, will he be forced to change tactics? UGA seems to either get worn down or doesn't have the depth for a sustained rushing attack. UGA did do pretty well against the two option teams we faced, but that is a different animal all together. Running straight at UGA (too much speed to go side to side) or rolling Martinez out of the pocket with maybe some run pass options is probably the best bet. You don't want him sitting in the pocket. UGA's strength is the pass rush. As far defending UGA's offense, it is pretty doggone balanced. Still the best bet (as always) is to stop the rush and try to make UGA one dimensional. If you can do that and put some serious pressure on Murray (and for all his knocks, it takes serious pressure to rattle him) you have a chance to force some mistakes. Even Michigan State was able to do that last year in the Bowl game. Quote Link to comment

Count 'Bility
Tim Beck could call a 1st down quick kick from the Georgia 40 on 6 different occasions and still not be fired. No one's getting fired. No coaching changes. Sorry. Quote Link to comment

grandpasknee
1. Never go up against a Sicilian (Georgian?) when death (bowl game) is on the line. 2. Never get involved in a land war in SE Asia. Quote Link to comment
Atbone95
I want a pick-6 to start the game. We're great at it. Quote Link to comment
Landlord
The question is if it is not working initially will he keep at it? We ran about 30 toss sweeps against Penn State. I think he'll stick with whatever we need to win. Quote Link to comment
HuskerNationNick
Beck runs more than he passes. 63.4% of his plays are on the ground. I am almost positive Georgia will hurt us defensively if all we do is run the ball. You need to mix it up. That is why we are so dangerous running the ball. Just because a team is weak in rush defense, doesn't mean they can't stop it if they know its coming. The reason Georgia lacks rushing defense, is because the teams they have faced, spread out their defense, and forced them to make open field tackles. Quote Link to comment
