Savage Husker
This Youngstown connection; vince, the stoops', and pelini grew up "friends." If those recruiting tactics are true and there's all this animosity and fallout, where does it stem from? Mike Marrow running softer than a roll of charmin tp and not getting another chance on the field? Barney's kids get to play but Vince's doesn't? Quote Link to comment
Chaddyboxer
Yeah...my buddy who is a Fla St. fan...stated that the reason they are recruiting so well is solely because of Stoops. I am like....sure there bud. I didn't go any further....I hate to argue with him because he is never wrong in his eyes. Quote Link to comment
B.B. Hemingway
I had heard that they are showing a video of Bos sideline behavior, so the da skers story doesn't surprise me one bit. Also wouldn't surprise me if marrow never gets another job after they tank. As bad as this may sound, I've met VM a few times and spoke to him a bit. Not exactly what I would consider a brilliant man. This may confirm that thought. To be honest, they can pull out all the tricks they want. Kentucky will never be Nebraska, not even for a minute. They will fade, to where they've always been.... Quote Link to comment
da skers
These are the guys that show video of Bo blowing up on players on the sideline to recruits and ask them "Is that what you want?" Part of the reason we lost out on the last guy to Kentucky is because Marrow told the kid that the fans and media hate Bo and he'll be gone this year or next year because the backlash is growing so much. He then pointed the kid to the rivals site. A da Skers sighting!!! Doesn't surprise me at all. VM is burning a ton of bridges. I have never wanted a program with a new head coach to fail more than UK. Been pretty stacked up with work and on the road a lot which doesn't give me much time to post. Sometimes I try to read the forum as I drive down the road but people tell me thats dangerous. Only good thing is that my travels have taken me through Lincoln a few times this summer. I've been able to stop in and see different projects and talk to a coach or two that I might not normally get a chance to see. I even talked to Miles a few minutes. Its hard not to get excited about the BBall program with that guy. Talking with JP i'll be shocked if the D isn't much better this year. We have a few question marks but I think they've got their arms around the beast. One thing they really felt they needed to do is up grad special teams to help out. Thats why we locked down a kicker and a return guy. I'm hoping they work on some of the formations next but getting the guys who can do it will help. Quote Link to comment

StPaulHusker
Stoops might be right. Bo may not be here in a couple of years. But if that is enough to convince a player to go to Kentucky over Nebraska, I find THAT hard to believe. Quote Link to comment
HuskerFowler
Thanks for stopping in da skers. If the d is even above average, we could have a breakout year. Quote Link to comment

I doubt that there was much animosity prior to marrow leaving. I'm guessing this is more a case of marrow doing everything he can to succeed. Unfortunately, he's willing to burn some bridges to do it. He'd better hope this Kentucky thing works out, as he's going to have some problems getting good references when it doesn't. Despite what the rabble rousers at the world herald say, no has shown no inclination to leave Lincoln. Considering our new AD seems smarter than some of our fans (who actually think we should run off a successful coach), I think the NFL calling is the only realistic chance Bo leaves. I was just making the point that coaches leave for various reasons. Better job, dream job, firing, etc. For argument sake, Nebraska coaches could go into the home of a kid considering Kentucky and say that Stoops might not be there more than 2-3 years based on the history of their coaches.
