Ulty
I don't think Marvin has enough experience to be a DC. Sanders was DC for 3 years at North Carolina and for one year at FAU, in addition to a pretty good resume as DB coach, so I don't think experience would hold him back. But from the rumors I've heard (no idea if they are accurate, but seems to be consistent with the same rumors that others know), Marvin's ship has sailed from NU. I don't think it was a criminal issue, but certainly philanderous and scandalous. Quote Link to comment
junior4949
I was thinking DC. I was thinking it would be an upgrade over JP. I could be wrong. But that was my thinking. Do you honestly believe Marvin Sanders would be any better at hand signaling Bo's plays into the defense than Pap? Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
I heard he used university money for strippers and/or hookers. Regardless, Terry Joseph is the best defensive coach we have. TJ > Sanders 2 Quote Link to comment
tmfr15
I think he has a chance at being able to describe the plays better for the defesne there by getting everyone on the same page. Signal all you want, but you have to effectively commuincate. I don't see JP doing that very well. And if there is any responsibility that JP has, it's talking to the D and getting everyone on the same page. A lot of the time on the sidelines, JP is talking with the defenders and Pelini is walking away from the huddle. Marvin might do better. Quote Link to comment
tmfr15
Marvin..... Gomes. Joseph.... Evans Case... CLOSED Quote Link to comment
Atbone95
Fire JP and make Joseph the DC. He won't stick around as just a secondary coach for long, and I don't think we really want to see how bad the defense would be without him. 1 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Why does this subject come up every year? Sanders is NOT coming back....ever..... 2 Quote Link to comment
ADS
Why does this subject come up every year? Sanders is NOT coming back....ever..... Someone finally gets it, he was shown the door for a reason. A reason serious enough that we will never see him back here again. Quote Link to comment
iowahuskers
If he would come back we could have a corner and safety coach instead of just have Terry Joesph for the entire secondary. I think hiring an additional secondary coach to look exclusive at the safeties would benefit us. Quote Link to comment
The Dude
Would love Marvin back as the secondary coach. As defensive coordinator? Nah. Quote Link to comment
jmfb
Why does this subject come up every year? Sanders is NOT coming back....ever..... 1000% correct, total waste of time talking about it. NO CHANCE. Just like saying lets get Vince Lombardi- same exact odds. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Since this is now devolving into rumors and conjecture about why Sanders left, I'm moving this to Rumorville. Quote Link to comment
