huskerdude171
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9961684/taylor-martinez-nebraska-cornhuskers-not-return-bo-pelini-says Well, none of us expected Taylor's career to end this way, especially with all the expectations for him this year. But I think it is best to move on. We have a potential star QB in TA. He seems to be the guy for this year most definitely. Tough break for Martinez, but I believe he wanted out of the limelight. He is a little awkward, and I think it showed with his play and the communication with his teammates. TA just seems to be a better fit. Wish the best for Taylor though. Quote Link to comment
presidentjlh
I hate a career ending in such a way, but if even Bo is doubtful as to his return, that pretty much seals it. Sucks. Quote Link to comment
QMany
I hope he can return to full health. He has done so much for this program, he deserves more. 5 Quote Link to comment
Army_Allen
If we are in a so so bowl that means nothing and Martinez is close to 100%, you let him ride (play) it out whether that be to the NFL wherever he could fit, or as a graduate at UNL. 1 Quote Link to comment
307husker
If true, that's not how you want your Sr. year go down. I still have a suspicion that injuries are being used to avoid the embarrassment/heat of benching a 4th year starter. We may never know. 2 Quote Link to comment

What indication have we seen from Tommy that he is the better option when both are healthy? 1 Quote Link to comment
307husker
Did he play in 50% of our games? What are the rules for medical "Redshirt" (not sure if that's the correct term)? I think the Taylor as QB1 at Nebraska is over, but could he come back as a receiver? Realistically, that's the only place that he could play in the NFL. Quote Link to comment

Medical redshirt is available for those who play in less than 25% of the games, as a result of injury. Taylor already has played in 4 games. This is his last year at NU. Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
If he has played his last snaps as a Husker, it was a very interesting career. His highs were so high, but his lows were very low. He will go down as one of the most polarizing Huskers ever. I just hope he gets a proper send-off on Senior Day, and there aren't any a-hole fans that ruin things. Quote Link to comment
307husker
Well, crap! Would be fun to watch his speed in a different position. Quote Link to comment
NUance
Damn! That's too bad. I was looking forward to T-Magic returning at some point, back at 100%. Quote Link to comment
HUSKER 37
After last Saturday, I'd like to see him (anyone?) fielding punts. Quote Link to comment
onlyHskrfaninIL
His playing days are basically over. He does deserve a nice send off because he basically gave up his body for the program. Maybe a job with BTN after he is gone replacing J leman? Quote Link to comment
