Do you remember your first ESPN College Gameday experience?

Recommended Posts

the first time i remember was the time i caught the ferry over to lincoln. i needed a new heel for my shoe, so, i decided to go to the haymarket, which is what they called lincoln in those days. so i tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "give me five bees for a quarter", you'd say.

now where were we? oh yeah: the important thing was i had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. they didn't have white onions because of the war. the only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

2001 OU vs NU was my first experience/memory. I was 13 at the time and I remember making a sign for the game and standing along the fence in the stadium next to the field. I think the Gameday set was in the NE corner entrance to the field and my dad and I left that area like 15 minutes before game time to make sure to be in our seats for the Tunnel Walk.

I believe it was the UCLA home game in the mid 90's, thinking '94 or '95?? The reason I remember it is b/c Craig James was on it then and bagged on us a lot. But, the reason I really remember it is b/c it was outside the East side of the stadium, not really many people out there watching as wasn't that big of a deal back then, but a drunk college kid came up and just started yelling f#*k you Craig James, f#*k you. It was funny as hell!!! Kid was just screaming it. I'd be surprised if they weren't ready to dial down background noise it could be heard on T.V.
