It's an issue of philosophy. Michigan State blocks hat-on-hat. They seal the first level and let the RB deal with the LB at the second level.

 

Nebraska, on the other hand, consistently allows the front-level defense to roam free. We do not maintain blocks, by scheme we let a man through unblocked on so many plays, and that man makes the tackle over and over.

 

It is beyond logic and reason that the offensive coaches can't see this. This has been happening for years.
