Mavric
I defnintely think the incoming linebackers - Dedrick Young (already enrolled), Mohamed Barry, Adrienne Talan and Tyrin Ferguson - are at the top of the list of guys who'll see action right away. Particularly Young. I think he could be a major contributor from Day 1. And apparently Barry is planning on it as well: 1 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
After that, I'm not sure. I think we definitely have some other guys who will be ready right away. But they're mostly at our deepest positions. Eric Lee and Avery Anderson at corner but that might be the deepest position on the team. They'll probably find their way on the field somewhere. Carlos and Khalil Davis but we are sitting pretty good at DT as well. Not sure how the staff will handle them. Stanley Morgan at WR but he's got a lot of guys with experience ahead of him. Matt Snyder at TE would probably have the next best chance after the LBs to get on the field the most. Quote Link to comment
NUance
Here's who you have to choose from. 2015 True Freshmen: Eric Lee CB (Enrolled) Avery Anderson ATH (Enrolled) Aaron Williams (Enrolled) Dedrick Young ATH (Enrolled) Jalin Barnett OG Carlos Davis SDE Christian Gaylord OT Lavan Alston WR Stanley Morgan WR Khalil Davis DT Daishon Neal SDE Devine Ozigbo RB Michael Decker OG Matt Snyder TE Adrienne Talan S Mohamed Barry OLB Tyrin Ferguson OLB Alex Davis WDE Antonio Reed S Jordan Ober LS LINK 2 Quote Link to comment
NUance
Jordan Ober (LS) is probly the most obvious choice. Given our lack of depth at long snapper. And perhaps Eric Lee or Avery Anderson at CB. Since both these guys are on campus already and Josh Mitchell's CB spot is up for grabs. Both were 4* recruits, according to Rivals. 1 Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
I have to believe the LB's are going to get playing time. Quote Link to comment
swmohusker
Young will play. Possibly Barry. I could Talan on special teams playing. Snyder has a real good chance along with the Davis twins. I know we are deep at that position but if they are better than K. Maurice or Williams then let them play. With our simplified scheme up front and more shooting gaps it should be a relatively quick learning curve for these guys who have amazing athletic ability. Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
If the defense is more of a react and dont think too much defense, i would assume it is the best athletes on the field who can make plays. I would assume far more True fresh will play on defense compared to years past. Everyone is learning the new defense at around the same time(except non-Jan enrollees) LB will look a bit different because of the speed we are adding compared to more slow position LB'ers we have there now. I think CB is a hard position to just jump in to at this level, so i actually think those guys will see limited playing time. WR or TE- Alston, Morgan and Snyder should all have a chance at Playing time with those positions being somewhat open. Cethan Carter probably gets some Playing time so who knows with Snyder, but he si a guy they have obviously targeted. I am excited to see some fresh blood, but more excited to see other guys who maybe had a hard time with the system get a new chance at life. Quote Link to comment

NUance
** BUMP ** Avery Anderson, ATH Every Power 5 College Football Team's Most Intriguing Freshman By Brian Pedersen , Featured Columnist May 29, 2015 <snip> At Oregon State, the fly sweep was a key weapon in the Beavers' offensive arsenal and saw both running backs and receivers get involved on these plays. That could be just how Anderson, who has the capability to play as a defensive back and receiver, gets playing time during his first season in Lincoln. He could also end up in the rotation at cornerback, but don't be surprised if he sees time on both sides of the ball. LINK BleacherReport weighs in. Not a bad guess, actually. Quote Link to comment
Red Five
He might be intriguing, but he will not playing receiver. 1 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
A couple votes for Stanley Morgan. I like both Morgan and Alston but I thought they'd be a little too far down the line to have much opportunity. However, there are a few more open spots in the receiver room now so perhaps they're right. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Diedrick Young is a lock to play. Possibly even start. Quote Link to comment
True2tRA
Do one of/both of the Davis twins come in and immediately battle for time at DE? Maybe give us a little more speed off the edge? 1 Quote Link to comment
suh_fan93
Man that's great to hear about Stanley Morgan. Quote Link to comment
