But I think it was Redux (??) who convinced me that "stripes" is correct. I've heard it both ways. In fact, in the two YouTubes below you hear the players say it both ways. Dear Lord, the battles we go through in life, We ask for a chance that's fair A chance to equal our stripes, A chance to do or dare If we should win, let it be by the code, Faith and Honor held high If we should lose, we'll stand by the road, And cheer as the winners go by Day by Day, we get better and better! JJ Husker Posted October 1, 2015 Share Posted October 1, 2015 I've seen good cases for all 3. My personal preference is stride as it makes the most sense to me. Although, since NUance's post above about what stripes refers to, I kind of like that version. I have seen various players claim the correct version is any of the 3. Was just going to say this. This is the correct way imo. Post 2001 Frank guided the team into its new reality "might be pounded occasionally". The prayer was modified accordingly. "Hit or miss"...a powerful season slogan was ingeniously conceived (with a hidden double meaning to encourage Jamal to keep throwing although the comp% was expected to be terrible (and it was) All whites for away games, too.
