NUance
If this is indeed the play, then just wow.....I know it's a bit late but to have something like that bother you the whole game? Maybe his quote was taken out of context Ha ha! That's awesome. Gates manhandling one of the best DTs in the conference. I don't see where that play is overly dirty. It's a continuation of the play. Gates starts pushing Calhoun Heath to the ground as the runner gets tackled--or just a fraction of a second after the runner goes down. Pushing him to the ground for the second time, that is. Nice! btw, Is that the play Calhoun Heath got hurt on? If so, that's unfortunate. There's some hard hitting going on in that play. Football is a rough game. Edited November 11, 2015 by NUance Oops. That's Joel Heath, not Shilique Calhoun. 4 Quote Link to comment
Tomhusker64
Here's a link to the headlock... http://www.instagram.com/p/90NXDRk_V3/?taken-by=da_general_89 Love reading the comments. "That was on 4th down on their final drive." Really? I don't think there was a fourth down on that last drive, was there? Quote Link to comment
Undone
Wasn't it just 2 or 3 years ago that MSU was widely known for dirty play that centered around Golston? Am I remembering that wrong? Quote Link to comment
lo country
Nasty. Something we are lacking... I like it. There is nasty and there is cheap/dirty. That was nasty. Quote Link to comment

But the Sparty players are floppers and actors. (Remember the Kenny Bell block?) You'd have to see the entire play to know how bad it really was. 1 Quote Link to comment
Decked
Both teams complained about holding calls all night. The line is a tough spot for both sides. sh#t gets nasty. Deal with it. Quote Link to comment
Bowfin
I don't think the "headlock" play came on Nebraska's touchdown play. I wanted to see the whole play but haven't found it yet. Maybe I will look later. Anyhow, it could have been worse for this guy. He could have been Alonzo Moore. Quote Link to comment
InOmaha
Wait until he gets to the next level where they'll try to poke your eye out while the ref is watching. 1 Quote Link to comment
Kernal
Bad link. Thanks, fixed. Here's a link to the headlock... http://www.instagram.com/p/90NXDRk_V3/?taken-by=da_general_89 Love reading the comments. "That was on 4th down on their final drive." Really? I don't think there was a fourth down on that last drive, was there? No. 1st down, 1st down, 1st down, 2nd down touchdown! 1 Quote Link to comment
Kernal
On the positive side: "Calhoun, who remains a half-sack behind Julian Peterson for No. 2 on the MSU career list, with 24 1/2, after his least impactful game of the season, vowed that he'll respond. He said Nebraska "has a great offensive line" but that MSU's defensive line must "get back there and create havoc." Yeah, what's this all about? LOL. Maybe somebody should tell our fans. It is the play Joel Heath got hurt on though, so that's why he's saying it was dirty. It looks like a normal effort play to me. But it is too bad Heath got hurt. I never want to see players get hurt. Kernal
sour grapes bro Sorta reminded me of when Randy Gregory was complaing about opponents cut blocking him. Really, Shilique? Quote Link to comment
Bigred_inSD
The commentators for the game also said how Calhoun seems to "dissappear"from games. Have to wonder once he gets that contract if he will be a bust. I'll go on record now and say he will fall in the draft because of effort issues and maybe some character red flags.
