Red_October
Haven't grades been one of the issues with Wilbon this year? Not academic grades from what I saw. Quote Link to comment
onlyHskrfaninIL
Word is there are at least seven players in danger of missing the bowl game. At least five are starter-caliber defensive players. Everyone travels because they won't find out for sure until they're in California (when grades are posted). That's unacceptable. I'd be issuing some serious team discipline or asking guys to move on. Undergrad is not that difficult and I'm betting not too many are pre-med. Kind of ironic though that they got in because of their academic progress rate. Probably can thank the walk on program for that. Well duh. The wrestling team has taken kids in for the sole reason of helping keep team GPA up. I'm sure football does as well. They aren't gunna take a walk on who gets bare minimum grades to hurt the GPA of the team. Oh my bad. I'll refrain from saying things you already know in the future. 1 Quote Link to comment

I guess I don't recall players missing for this reason but I'm sure it has happened. The guy who reported this said he didn't remember any in the 15+ years he's been covering the Huskers. I'm sure there are 2 or 3 guys each year, but unless they are starters we probably never know. Didn't Santos missed last year for grades? And didn't Afalava miss for grades a few years ago as well? Decked
I'm gonna be brutally honest. These kids have private tutors and some of these kids are in joke classes. How does one not get good grades here? 4 Quote Link to comment

Well gee I wonder who brought these players in #blame-bo-derailment It is the players fault if they don't get good grades...doesn't matter who is coach or who brought them in. The system at Nebraska gives them every opportunity to succeed. If they don't take advantage of that it is on them. 1 Quote Link to comment

Do we still have the same level of academic support for the players that we had in the Osborne era? If it's anything close to that there is no excuse for not getting good grades. Pretty much, maybe even better. Dennis LeBlanc is still there running that side of things and has been since 1987. Great guy. Quote Link to comment

What if some just don't have the natural inborn talent to pass classes? They have tutors to help them then. It's the other half of the talent plus hard work equation. Quote Link to comment
