Hunter94
I don't think VV is NFL material at this point. Too many injuries, not enough time on the field to prove he can remain on the field. Collins I can understand, but insurance can be taken out to cover injury. Suh benefited greatly by staying his senior year, Collins could be the same. The financial considerations of Suh and Collins are completely different. The rookie scale in the NFL has significantly changed since Suh signed his huge rookie contract. NFL players make significantly less money on their rookie deals, and don't get huge money until their second contracts. That is why spending an extra year at NU isn't that beneficial too Collins. He should go pro, hope he kicks ass, and get to this 2nd contract a year earlier than he would if he came back for his senior year. it's all relative i guess, money, injury prone, development.......they both need polish and conditioning to be dominate players in the NFL. Hunter94
I doubt they come back. Collins is a 2nd round or higher lock. VV doesn't want to risk injury VV has the injury bug to play through......he's better off getting it off his back in college before he goes pro........ Quote Link to comment

theknife
VV has the desired size for the 3-4 and nose guard in the NFL. He could drafted on that alone, as finding one while not impossible, makes the 3-4 very effective. Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
Collins gone per the presser.... Best of luck to you buddy...gonna miss you big time! 2 Quote Link to comment

Touchdown Tommie
Wonder what the answer is for VV now??? If we lose both that really sucks...selfishly of course! Quote Link to comment
Treand3
He gave us a good three years. Totally understand his decision and hope he kills it. Quote Link to comment
swmohusker
VV has tweeted a couple things about getting money and taking care of yourself. Which I have no problem with someone taking that opportunity. Think he has made up his mind and just not announced it. I bet he is gone. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
wish him good luck moving up...... Quote Link to comment
Redux
That sucks, good luck to him. I think another year for VV would really improve his draft stock but understandable. Time to unleash the Davis twins? Quote Link to comment
Saunders
I really hope he reconsiders, not just for selfish reasons. From what I've heard from the local media guys, due to production, and injuries, he's a 6-7 rounder at best. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
VV has been tweeting things all season here and there that would suggest hes just not happy in Lincoln right now for a variety of reasons and that hes ready to move on. Quote Link to comment
