Xmas32
46-41?! Wow, not exactly a defensive struggle, eh? The 46 was based on scoring system that awarded defensive plays. Huh? The defense got points for things like 3 & outs, INTs, sacks, etc. The offense got points for big plays in addition to other things. http://www.cornnation.com/2016/4/15/11436548/embrace-nebraskas-wacky-spring-game-scoring-rules Quote Link to comment
cm husker
46-41?! Wow, not exactly a defensive struggle, eh?The 46 was based on scoring system that awarded defensive plays. Huh? It was offense against defense. The defense scored by accomplishing various things, like 3 and outs and collecting turnovers. The defense won (actually on that last pick thrown by POB). 1 Quote Link to comment

So they gave the D points for doing those things? I guess it's the "participation" ethos bleeding thru the college game, hmm, weird, and whatev.... Did everyone get a blue ribbon @ game's end? cm husker
It's a fairly standard way to run scoring in a scrimmage. I played in a couple of spring games that used it. It's more effienent, in a lot of ways, than a "real game" scoring approach. 1 Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
The scoring that was done is pretty typical in offense vs. defense setting. They didn't want to have to worry about splitting the roster up into 2 teams, so they just went with an offense vs. defense setting. Quote Link to comment

I think this should translate into real games, like when we play Oregon, if we, for e.g, get a 3 and out, we get 6 points and the ball. Ok, maybe 3 and out is too much to ask, how about a 6 and out? Tackle for loss is 3 points for us. INT is 7 points and you don't even have to run it back to the endzone, just down it. I like these new rules. Quote Link to comment

BigRedBuster
Question about the depth chart for the Spring game. I know, that at this point, the depth chart doesn't mean much. However, would it be safe to assume that if a player is on the field (especially at the beginning of the game) with Fyfe that they would be the second string? Quote Link to comment
