Actually the percentage of words in those 5 posts compared to the entire number of words in the thread maybe be interesting...

I typically don't read his posts. Cruising through these four is a reminder why I stopped in the first place. I can't imagine why anyone thinks this kind of discourse is appropriate for this forum. Based on past precedent, at least the moderation I've been involved in, I cannot imagine why this person is allowed to post here with comments like this.

At the very least this guy has no clue how to cooperate with other people to put out an announcement. He also doesn't give a crap if someone doesn't want certain things announced.

It appears to me that the bank had committed to the investment. Trump took credit for it acting like it never would have happened if it weren't for him.

 

The bank is saying BS.

 

I have a certain level of respect for the bank for calling him out on it.

I think a good rule of thumb is to just assume that he is automatically embellishing the good and lying about the bad, full stop.

How do we combat a mindset like that when he's sucked a whole bunch of people into reflexively believing his BS and assuming anything reporting otherwise is garbage?

I always wondered, reading various histories, how relatively modern-era first world governments could ever have gotten away with blatant misrepresentations of the truth (embellished numbers, etc).

Fascinating and scary.

 

I mean, I've never had a positive view of the general population's intelligence but I'm learning people are a lot more stupid than I gave them credit for.

 

Not just believing lies that Trump tells but when there's a scientific consensus on something, let's say that vacciines don't cause autism, I have FB friends who will search until they find bull sh#t shoddy research from a disreputable source to show the opposite and claim that it's proof.

 

There is no way to battle that. None at all. I have no idea how to explain to someone who's like this why they are wrong. All we can do is try to figure out why people are like this and fix it for future generations.

Inform those around you and urge them research the information themselves. That's all any of us can do, really.
