When you force Obamacare on us, ram gays and transgendered people down our throats, expected us to take in potentially deadly refugees meanwhile allowing our cops to be slaughtered while trying to protect us, and attempt to adopt a European style socialist system, you might lose the election.

Um?

Gays wanted to be able to get married. To each other. Which harms no one whatsoever. Trust me, the gays don't have any interest in ramming anything down your throat.

As for transgenders, the reason they were a huge news story was because North Carolina specifically made a law for where they should use the restroom. They certainly didn't want that to happen or ask for that to be a story.

What do I know? I'm just a basket of deplorables

You know I'm not a politician, right? That was one of the lamest responses I've ever seen. Maybe try thinking about my response instead of keeping your head in the mud.

Um-no

Ok. Keep thinking those Gay guys want to ram things down your throat then.

I feel like this is uncalled for.

I mean he did literally criticize Hillary Clinton/democrats for wanting to shove gays down his throat.

I guess the 15 min meet and greet at the WH turned into a 90 minute event. Good meeting between President Obama and President Elect Trump. Who would have thought? :clap

http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/obama-trump-white-house-meeting/2016/11/10/id/758230/

quote in part:

President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump, coming off an 90-minute meeting that was initially to have lasted 10 or 15 minutes, both indicated a willingness to work together in the coming months as the transition between administrations takes place.

"This was a meeting that was going to last for maybe 10 or 15 minutes, and we were just going to get to know each other," Trump told reporters. "We had never met each other. I have great respect. The meeting lasted for almost an hour and a half, and as far as I'm concerned, it could have gone on for a lot longer."

Trump said the two discussed several different situations, including "some wonderful and some difficulties."

"I very much look forward to dealing with the president in the future including counsel," said Trump. "He explained some of the difficulties, some of the high-flying assets and some of the really great things that have been achieved. So, Mr. President, it was a great honor being with
you, and I look forward to being with you many, many more times in the future."

Obama also described the meeting as an "excellent conversation" that was "wide-ranging."

"We talked about some of the organizational issues in setting up a White House," said Obama. "We talked about foreign policy, we talked about domestic policy. And as I said last night, my number one priority in the coming two months is to try to facilitate a transition that insures our president-elect is successful".

You guys are going to think I'm an editor for Newsmax. Newmax often links to original article sources and summarizes them with some editorial content as well - depending on the article.

Of course doing the #s list is just someone's perspective. I'm sure we could come up wt other lists but here are 3.

This election was about a percentage point away from having a very, very different narrative. 538 did a great piece on that: http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/what-a-difference-2-percentage-points-makes/

What would have happened if just 1 out of every 100 voters shifted from Trump to Clinton?

The answer is that the firewall holds, and she also gets Florida en route to 307 electoral votes.

So I think it's dangerous to construct too heady a narrative. It was a lot closer than many gave it credit for, and that speaks to the power of Trump's constituency. That can't be denied. At the same time, it was awful close in those states along the blue corridor that ultimately turned the election.

very true Zoogs. It tells us how divided we are as a nation. It could have easily flipped. From a electoral or popular vote perspective, Trump does not have a mandate. But one could argue that from a change perspective ( the vast difference between his proposals and Obama/Clinton policies) he may have a mandate - that in the fact that the Congress didn't flip either. He'll have to walk the tight rope and not come across like Obama did in 2008 - "Elections have consequences" as he basically told John McCain to sit down and shut up.

How can he have a mandate if over half the people who cast votes against him? Not only that many, but Clinton beat him in the popular vote, and then you have to factor those who went third party or write in. I think in spite of a good sized EC victory, a mandate is a bit much.

But, hey, if they're going to try to legislate anything like Red Five's tweet during this administration, Republicans better enjoy the last election they win for a while. America is only getting more progressive, folks. That map that Knapp posted regarding the youth vote map being almost exclusively blue comes to mind.

There aren't going to be enough conservatism going forward if they veer hard right like that to sustain them. The country is getting more diverse and religion is becoming less influential as a voting bloc.
