Nebfanatic
Is this turning out to be the largest amount of potential recruits attending the Spring game? I count 34 but my eyes aren't what they used to be. Again....let's just see how many on that list actually are there. There's always a certain number whose plans change at the last minute. regardless this growing list is still abnormally large for kids even saying they will be here. Quote Link to comment

His teammate is that Antwan Reed correct? It'd be nice to have the signee and the recruit there together. They plan to attend together. Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Corona, California WR Chase Williams will be here. Does not appear to have an offer yet but he seems offer-worthy. Rivals 247 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Damion Daniels will be here as well. Quote Link to comment
seaofred92
I know we'd never tell someone not to come on their own dime to Lincoln but you have to wonder if there almost comes a point where there are too many prospects at the game for our own good. Coaches can only be in one spot at once Quote Link to comment

girlknowsfootball
With 2017 signees, 2018 commits and prospects, 2019 prospects and 2020 prospects it's looking like we could end up with 60-70 football players plus their families for this game. Right now an accumulation of various recruiting sites have confirmed the following say they have made travel arrangements to be there, this does not include guys from the 2017 signing class: - 2 QB's - 9-10 WR's - 3-4 RB's (don't know if Pledger is still coming with recent commitment to OU) - 2 TE's - 3 OL's - 1 DE - 3-4 DT's - 3 LB's - 8 DB's - 4 ATH's 1 Quote Link to comment

girlknowsfootball
Why do you guys think it is that we seem to get a lot of foot traffic on campus from skills players, but have very little from linemen? I've noticed a ton of Rivals 250 traction with WR's & DB's but much less from OLmen and DLmen. It concerns me that we seem to have such an emphasis on skills players but seem to not be equally as influential with the big guys. It concerns me because it doesn't matter how many top receivers we have if we don't have an Oline that can give a passing QB great protection and time to go through his progressions. If Lee or O'Brien can't get in rhythm because they feel pressure, it will shut down our offense and the WR's and RB check downs will be useless. On defense it concerns me because we need to get pressure on the QB and we need to run stuff we'll enough to free the DB's in space. Pelini always said great defenses started with the line. Banker said he built from the outside in. I just see a consistent number of DB's and WR's with us in play but it seems we can't generate that kind of traction with the linemen. Do you guys feel like that's concerning as well? 1 Quote Link to comment

I came here to tell you that there are just more skill positions ranked higher, but I was wrong. Numbers don't lie You're right, we should probably be doing better. I think it also has to do with the typical recruitment cycle "styles" if you will for skilled positions over OL/DL. It seems skill position players just make the rounds (camps come to mind, big time) in much higher volume than the guys in the trenches do. Quote Link to comment
