Yikes. That is NOT good, at all. Of course this is pure supposition that Mike'l Severe has an accurate read and knows what he's talking about. (I don't know anything about Severe's background so ) Quote Link to comment

We have no depth whatsoever right now because of the three guys we lost last spring. It hurt our whole season last year. Maybe even cost us a game or two. The only silver lining in losing those three DLs is that we 86ed Hughes at DL coach, and upgraded to Parrella. Quote Link to comment
theknife
This had positive things to say about some of the 2 deep Dline men. Too early to tell anything. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/camp-chatter-sights-and-sounds-march/article_ddd58130-c5bc-52fa-b1df-61f6c48d2373.html Quote Link to comment
husker_fan_from_sweden
@husker_fan_from_sweden, I refuse to watch anything pertaining to the Irish on sheer principle. You don't watch Rudy? Now that's just un-American. =P Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Defensive end Peyton Newell. Now a junior, Newell has had his best spring camp, shifting to a 3-4 defensive end. He’ll be in the rotation this year, and he made two impressive plays Thursday during live work. OWH Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Parrella listed Newell and Khalil Davis as backups who have emerged well lately. Quote Link to comment
Caliborn72
DLine looked way more like a 4-3 today but that's to be expected. Stoltenberg looks the part. A couple others on the red squad looked okay but most of the white squad DLine looked about 30lbs too small. Diaco should have some fun change of pace guys to utilize. The ILBs are going to have to have a season. Quote Link to comment

Can't wait till the rest of the 2017 class gets here to plug some gaps. Quote Link to comment

Huskerzoo
Post-spring position check: Top Big Ten defensive line units While never what we want to see, I'm taking this all with a grain of salt. We didn't show off our base D at all. The assignments are completely different in a 4-3. How is anyone supposed to evaluate us? The same thing with our offense at this point. We saw that they can execute a little bit in the spring game, but we have no clue how open the playbook was. We don't know if it's a result of what our D gave us or not. Pretty much, I'm in wait and see mode. Quote Link to comment
