I wish it wasn't necessary, but sadly, it bears repeating:

Republican megadonor Betsy DeVos should NEVER have been a steward of public funds in any competent administration.

Unfortunately, she is, because we're led by a reality TV carnival barker and the only relevant qualification is how much you've done for the team, instead of whether or not you're actually good at the job.

Trump being Trump is not good for the country. This is what happens when we elect someone's who's policy positions and core beliefs are only as thick as a campaign slogan.   His knee jerk(yes he is) reaction to everything causes chaos and prevents real progress on issues.  His attention span is limited and his focus even less.  Thus when a situation occurs - knee jerk reaction - close the boarder, oops that will destroy the economy which will destroy MAGA campaign slogan ( a 2 year old could have figured that out).  Challenge ACA again, even wt a Dem house, then oops - that will be a problem in the election.    The bold highlighted below should not be a surprise.  The grown-ups in Congress & within his party have to warn Trump of the consequences because 1. He doesn't seek advice from others - remember he's the smartest guy in the room - he knows it is for sure  because he told himself this.  2 He is an impulsive narcissistic person - can't help himself - keep the nuclear button far away from him please.  (Amendment 25 please)

President Trump has left his advisers and GOP lawmakers reeling from policy whiplash in recent days, cycling through new ideas on health care and immigration that underscore his continuing struggle to pursue a coherent domestic agenda in a divided Washington.

Trump surprised Republicans last week with a new pledge to replace the Affordable Care Act, only to backtrack Tuesday after being confronted with the realities of another all-consuming fight over President Barack Obama’s signature health-care law on Capitol Hill.

Trump has also sent aides and a large part of the federal bureaucracy scrambling to respond to his expansive vow to close the entire U.S.-Mexico border this week unless “ALL illegal immigration” is halted by Mexico. Alarmed lawmakers and business leaders warned that any such move would be catastrophic for the U.S. economy, and administration officials signaled Tuesday that they were seeking more-limited options to address a surge in migration at the border.

Even efforts on which the White House has worked closely with congressional GOP leaders have seen setbacks, such as a massive disaster funding bill that stalled Monday amid partisan sniping over aid to Puerto Rico. Trump has inflamed the fight by repeatedly denigrating the island’s leadership and implying that Puerto Rico — a U.S. territory — is separate from the United States.

The battles illustrate the difficulties Trump and Republicans have had in adjusting to Democratic control of the House after two years of uncontested GOP power in Congress and the White House. But many Republicans say they have adapted to the pandemonium — learning to privately sway Trump by warning him of the consequences of his policy declarations, many of which are launched in late-night or early-morning tweets.

More, and more winning.  And his followers are too stupid to understand how he is screwing them.

Bill Barr's redacted version of these numbers:

- Consumers bore [some] of the costs of the tariffs
- The tariffs brought in $82m to the Treasury
- Created 1,800 jobs

MAGA!

Good for AOC for campaigning on her beliefs, and for sticking to them.

Good for Pelosi for saying those beliefs are not going to be mainstream Democratic ideals.

Maybe, if AOC sticks around and earns some bona fides, she should split off from the Democrats and form her own party.  America could use a third (or fourth, or fifth) party. There is zero likelihood that two parties accurately represent the diverse ideas & ideals of 350+ million Americans.

Why do we even need parties at all?
