The Democrat Utopia

Really amazing considering the job killing, worker hating, anti-growth economic policies of the Biden Administration.

The American public, fortunately, is smart enough to realize that merely doubling the economic performance of peer nations represents an economic catastrophe.

LA and Atlanta out there bringing murder victims BACK from the dead!!!

I kid, I kid...

One thing, notice how the stupid "defund the police" thing is GONE...because it was stooopid.

Oooooor the unrest and outrage has started to die down now that the bad apples are being held accountable.

Defund was always a stupid slogan, because what really needed to be done was to reform.

Literally a worse idea/slogan even over "New Coke" or "Crystal Pepsi"  But those dongs were SOOOO geeked up that they thought it was amazing.  Then when they were called out on it they were like "Errrr, ummmmm, we don't really mean DEFUND, errr, we just mean, errrrr, like, errrrr, make some ummmmm, errrrr, changes"

Even funnier were the people defending the stooooopid saying.  Like, just admit it, it was insane.

Absolutely bonkers considering the pro crime, anti-police, authority hating domestic policies of the Biden Administration.

These numbers are interesting.   KC’s number is compared against 2023 when the city experienced its deadliest year on record.  This years number is also recently trending up.  Not sure if this reflects other cities too, but as for KC, it’s not the flex someone is wanting it to be.

That said, reducing the murder rate is ALWAYS a good thing no matter who is in charge.

Absolutely. The good thing is that violent crime across the board has been on a downward trajectory since the 1970s. As we distance ourselves from COVID, violent crime seems to be resuming it'd downward trend.

There are a lot of really dumb ideas to come out of the American left, and "defund the police" was one of the worst.

They had SUCH a good chance to nail that one!  But they just could not think of anything other than the word "Defund"

Violent crime rates in the 70’s 80’s and early 90’s was a drug fueled anomaly imo.  I don’t think the 2000’s should be compared to those years.   Not that we still don’t have a drug problem in the US.
It was more with the introduction of cocaine, crack, etc….gangs, users, small time dealers were all fighting for a piece of this new pie.  Much oh that non-sense is settled and we see less drug fueled gang war killings/violence  now a days.

The word they should have used was "reallocate," because the non-crazy people pimping "defund the police" wanted to use some of the public funds that go to police for things like first-responder mental health intervention. Basically, instead of the police having to deal with people experiencing mental health crises, trained mental health professionals would be the first responders.

But "Reallocate funds currently given to law enforcement to instead be distributed to better mental health responses" isn't as catchy as "defund the police!"

That's where Republicans have just run circles around Democrats, for decades now. They absolutely understand how to provide succinct, easy-to-remember phrases to their constituents that convey a clear, direct message.

Those are all givens and none of them would have resulted in such a high profile conversation.

Movements are blunt instruments and often have blunt instrument terminology or sound bytes. "Make the police better" does not center a nationwide conversation, just like, "Black people shouldn't be disadvantaged" or "women want equal rights as men" similarly don't really move much of a galvanizing needle.

Anyone that thought Defund the Police was literal is an idiot or actively looking for a reason to be in opposition, and even those folks and the ones who disapprove of the language having a disagreeing response to it ultimately makes the intent behind the slogan successful.
