olddominionhusker
Rome has grown up a lot. He consistently does a good interview these days. 1 Quote Link to comment
ScawFraw
http://jimrome.com/2017/12/07/12-7-2017-mitchell-rog-frost/ Jim Rome is awesome. Has the best interview with Frost I've ever heard. Plus he totally stands up for us when some idiot calls in and insults us. Jim Rome is the man. 2 Quote Link to comment

I think he was trying to make a name for himself. It's been strange how much he's expressed his respect for Nebraska. He just doesn't seen like he and us have anything in common but he's tooted our horn clear back to before Crouch won the Heisman. Quote Link to comment
Hayseed
Once you've heard everything on the football boards it just sounds like a rehash of obvious stuff meant for the casual observer. Not very interesting. And that video was a publicity stunt. Jerry Springer. Quote Link to comment

Rome has been a guilty pleasure of mine for car listening for a while. He has always been unabashedly pro Nebraska. I think it’s just a result of him coming of age career wise when we were such a force. Quote Link to comment
grandpasknee
"Shout out to all my clones in Bugaha"....LOL I do like his interview skills. Quote Link to comment

CENTEXHUSKER
Seemed like Rome had Pelini on his show two/three times a year. Only heard Riley on once, BC never(?)... I’m confident Rome is a ‘Sker guy. Omaha was one of the first affiliates when he started out in the 90’s. Quote Link to comment

CENTEXHUSKER
This was a genuine conversation, Frost acknowledging that he was emotional, telling his (UCF) players ‘goodbye’ and his players respecting and understanding, even encouraging him to go back to Lincoln. Not exaggerating when I say I got goosebumps listening. Definitely a leader of men. Quote Link to comment
Landlord
4 hours ago, krc1995 said: ill take it- Rome lost his job after. I stand corrected. Crazy, as the whole thing seems entirely contrived and fake. Rome gained notoriety in 1994 for an incident on his ESPN2 show, Talk2, when his guest was NFL quarterback Jim Everett. Rome previously referred to Everett as "Chris" (after Chris Evert, the female tennis player), suggesting that Everett was less than a man whenever he shied away from getting hit. Everett appeared as a guest on the show and warned Rome about repeating the insult. Rome continued to address Everett as "Chris" and Everett overturned the table between them and shoved Rome to the floor while still on the air. Their confrontation resulted in no legal action, although Rome publicly apologized to Everett. Rome considers that event one of his early career mistakes.[8] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Rome#Controversy_and_incidents Quote Link to comment

It was big news when it happened and funnier than hell to watch. Quote Link to comment

Personally I think his respect for Nebraska stems from the knowledge and skills of the callers from "Bugaha". He is a coneseuer of smack-talk. Quote Link to comment
teachercd
Rome making fun or "Chris" was clearly done for a reason and it worked. He is one of the best interviewers out there and I think he would be the best on any topic. He asks questions and lets the person talk, a lost art. Quote Link to comment
