As an old wrestling coach (and an even older wrestler); trust me... that is beyond just "damn impressive"... 1 Quote Link to comment
NUance
The Polar Bear Express BY STEVEN M. SIPPLE Lincoln Journal Star Mar 1, 2020 Updated 7 hrs ago <snip> After all, Hutmacher — who in December signed with the Nebraska football team — won last year's state crown by pinning his final opponent in nine seconds. 84HuskerLaw
A strong high school senior! Not to denigrate his current training but its exciting to imagine what the pros in Lincoln may be able to do the build him to the max. ! Boyd E will probably have to check in now & then on Mr Nash! Teach him the moves and techniques of Suh and GO BIG RED! Quote Link to comment
Decked
His dad is a massive fan of Louis Simmons & implements a lot of his training philosophies and principles. He’s already in good hands in the weight room. Just needs more time to keep getting stronger and develop. Quote Link to comment
84HuskerLaw
I am sure he gets solid work now but likely not the level of facilities and staff etc. Doubtful he has access to equip etc of Husker Power. If so maybe NU has fallen down a bunch. Used to be amongst the tops in the country - period. Quote Link to comment
Loebarth
Dumb question from someone that has never lifted. Hutmacher, to me, seems like a power lifter so my question is mostly about equipment. Has equipment changed that much for power lifters as I figure most of the equipment is still bars and weights. Yes/No? I realize the quick twitch muscle development equipment has changed but has the power lifter equipment? Quote Link to comment

With that said, if you ask 10 different "experts" about how to do something like a bench press, you will get about 7 different answers. 1 Quote Link to comment
84HuskerLaw
Interesting topic to me. Someone who knows maybe could give a short summary of the typical workouts a Husker might go thru (lifts, reps, drills, etc). There is lots more science and system in the S&C methods of today vs 40 yrs ago. Quote Link to comment
