I don't think its pure BS but shows how weak they were coming in. Michigan has been lifting properly for 4 years. Less than 1 for us. And they've recruited significantly better. And they are more experienced. We still have a weak mentality. I could go on and on.

100% agree.  We are light years ahead of where we were last year in the S&C compare to ourselves.  There were no comparative metrics to other teams.  Basically, the me of today is stronger than the me of yesterday.  Nothing to do with comparing to others....Hell, Troy had us worn out.  UM is kicking our teeth in, BUT our guys are stil a stronger version of themselves than last year...

If your lines on both sides of the ball are getting destroyed, tweaking won’t help. It’s way too premature for that. Frost needs to recruit the right players for this system that his players right now aren’t learning very well do to this very new system. Frost just doesn’t have the bodies right now.

I think it's honeslty both. I agree he doesn't have the talent, especially upfront on the offensive line, but I also think it's a scheme issue. Zone blocking is great when your O-Line is big & strong, but Nebraska is just not there yet. The O-Line needs help, the running backs could use the benefit of having a lead blocker, whether that's from a pulling lineman, an H-Back, or a fullback.

Except for being uptempo, multiple formations, quick pre-snap motions, this offense has no identity it. It will get there, but Frost does need to make changes.

Is it possible to continue with an academic scholarship, but remove them from football?

Yes. You can kick them out of the locker room, but we still have to honor the scholarship as long as they're in Lincoln going to class...so that doesn't free up the scholarship for recruiting.

What another poster is proposing is what the SEC does--you make the player's life a living hell and force them to quit the team, thus freeing up the scholarship. It's how 'Bama has cheated their way to their NCs--every four years, by this practice, they get a full extra recruiting class worth of kids, and it's detrimental to the long-term health of collegiate football.

But some of our "fans" apparently want to win by any means necessary and feel that the end justifies the means, which is myopic and sad.
