The Angry Violent Right

Recommended Posts

When did the freedom loving, pro-life, Christian Right become the “murder everyone who disagrees with us” party? and...i thought trump said the army had no bullets when he got in office

edit to add....omg....he said use those bullets to put down the resurrection.   i really don't think that is what Jesus wants.

The second category of domestic terrorists, left-wing groups, generally profess a revolutionary socialist doctrine and view themselves as protectors of the people against the “dehumanizing effects” of capitalism and imperialism. They aim to bring about change in the United States and believe that this change can be realized through revolution rather than through the established political process. From the 1960s to the 1980s, leftist-oriented extremist groups posed the most serious domestic terrorist threat to the United States. In the 1980s, however, the fortunes of the leftist movement changed dramatically as law enforcement dismantled the infrastructure of many of these groups, and the fall of communism in Eastern Europe deprived the movement of its ideological foundation and patronage

That is really interesting.  I know back in the late 60s and early 70s, they had groups like the Weather Underground that set off some bombs that were basically terrorist acts.

It's interesting that law enforcement was able to dismantle them.  I have a hard time believing it's going to be easy for law enforcement to dismantle right wing violent groups simply because, on average, law enforcement leans more right wing.  Just like we have seen in recent times evidence that still very racist feelings are throughout certain departments.  Those departments are not going to be effective in dismantling a right wing group.
