nic
Columbia University graduate, billionaire investor and Omega Advisors CEO Leon Cooperman had harsh words for Ivy League students who are sharing anti-Israel sentiment on campus. “These kids at the colleges have sh-- for brains," Cooperman told "The Claman Countdown" host Liz Claman on Wednesday. "We have one reliable ally in the Middle East. That's Israel. We only have one democracy in the Middle East. That's Israel. And we have one economy tolerant of different people, gays, lesbians, etc. That's Israel. So they have no idea what these young kids are doing." "Now, the real shame is, I've given to Columbia probably about $50 million over many years," he continued. "And I'm going to suspend my giving. I'll give my giving to other organizations." I hate to break it to him, but 50M is not very much for a billionaire and the kids hate the fact that he has that much wealth. 2 Link to comment
nic
https://www.foxnews.com/us/harvard-president-announces-advisory-council-combat-antisemitism-campus-no-longer Gay delivered remarks at the Harvard Hillel Shabbat Dinner, saying that "we are witnessing a surge in anti-Jewish incidents and rhetoric across the nation — and on our own campus," where she said that she has heard "story after story" of "Jewish students feeling increasingly uneasy or even threatened." "As president, I am committed to tackling this pernicious hatred with the urgency it demands," Gay said in her remarks. "Antisemitism has a very long and shameful history at Harvard. For years, this University has done too little to confront its continuing presence. No longer." 1 Link to comment
nic
I had no idea antisemitism ran so deep in these schools. The same UPenn got lights how last night. https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.timesofindia.com/world/us/anti-semitic-slogans-projected-on-university-of-pennsylvania-buildings/amp_articleshow/105130235.cms Link to comment
nic
Various Ivy League presidents testified about the antisemitism on their campuses. It didn't end well. The UPenn president might lose her job. UPenn also lost a 100M donation. The Harvard President came back with an apology. This Tweet had a word not allowed on the board. The ChatGPT founder, who is Jewish, said that "for a long time" he believed that antisemitism was "not as bad" as people said. "For a long time I said that antisemitism, particularly on the American left, was not as bad as people claimed," Altman said. "I'd like to just state that I was totally wrong." https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/08/us/claudine-gay-harvard-president-apology-crimson.html 2 1 1 Link to comment

It's also great that the context surrounding those people no longer matters and she can remove her support for them, and call for their termination. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/carl-paladino-adolf-hitler_n_62a216dce4b06594c1c58d4a Quote WASHINGTON ― Republican House candidate Carl Paladino praised Nazi leader Adolf Hitler’s ability to rouse “the crowds” and declared Hitler “the kind of leader we need today” in a February 2021 interview on the radio station WBEN in Buffalo, New York. Quote When presented with Paladino’s statement that Hitler is “the kind of leader we need today,” Stefanik claimed it was taken out of context. “I condemn any statement, but don’t take it out of context,” Stefanik told HuffPost. “That is not accurate reporting.” Pretty sure she doesn't have the moral high ground on any one. 1 Link to comment

Honestly I am over people calling for other people's jobs based on something they said or didn't say. Its getting old. I also doubt you can find a politician with a morale high ground. My post is about the antisemitism being exposed in our 'elite' universities. I shouldn't be surprised, but I am. 1 1 Link to comment
