Every hit I expected a fumble. If we dont have a kicker all year then the play calling must reflect knowing we have 4 downs everytime. 1 2 Quote Link to comment
Whs from cb
But the player went out of bounds on his own then came back in to recover the ball Quote Link to comment

Sometimes that frees up the offense, but it will probably cost us a close game or two. Quote Link to comment
Courtesy Flush
I learned that if I get pissed and nearly throw my TV at half, but decide to spend the rest of the game on an angry walk, it actually feels pretty good. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
CheeseHusker
Maybe we oughta just go for two most times, especially if the offense rolls like it was. Quote Link to comment

He established himself OOB, touched the ball, and that makes the ball OOB. It’s like a player trying to recover a fumble but if he’s OOB when touching the ball, it makes the ball OOB. Don’t get mad because you didn’t know the rule. 1 minute ago, CheeseHusker said: Maybe we oughta just go for two most times, especially if the offense rolls like it was. The 2 point run by Martinez was nice. He just took off and found the end zone with his speed. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Jack Burton
The Huskers win the yardage battle 690-299. This should be a 3 TD win. 3 1 Quote Link to comment

But yards don’t always equal points. NU had a missed 4th down in the first quarter and a missed FG at the end of the game. Illinois also had TD drives of 2 yards and 14 yards after turnovers. Don’t get mad because you didn’t know the rule. I’m not mad and I know the rule but I still think it’s a stupid rule. Gotta admit it’s a loophole situation that has consequences far too serious for the kicking team. I mean we did not technically kick the ball out of bounds. It’s just a fluky deal that gave them way better field position than I think a team deserves in that situation. 3 2 1 Quote Link to comment

I'll take the road win. 690 yards and 32 first downs is a 60 spot. 1 Quote Link to comment
FrankWheeler
What offensive line play are you guys complaining about? Martinez got hit twice all night on passes? 4 Quote Link to comment

JJ Husker
I learned that this team finally found a way to win game that it would not have found in about the last 15 years. There’s plenty to be concerned about (turnovers & penalties) but overcoming 4 turnovers, 11 penalties, not giving up and still finding a way to win....I don’t think the importance of that for this program can be overstated. 2 Quote Link to comment

Yeah, not quite out by the river. All in town, but it was definitely a nice night for it. A little rain at first. Quote Link to comment
