Nebhawk
Yes sir, Amart made some bad throws, bad throws under pressure. Its all correlated. Bad snaps, bad line play, forces any QB to do things they wouldn't normally do or attempt. Running for some space to throw usually causes issues eventually. Quote Link to comment

They haven't played anyone. We got boatraced by a juggernaut and had a s#!tty close loss because our kicker got hurt. Quote Link to comment
Dansker
Eventually an offensive line will grow tired of blocking for a QB who can't complete a simple swing pass, screen, or easy throw on the run. When they get tired of blocking, the QB gets sacked, gaps get filled and runs are stuffed. Then QB throws are off balance, and receivers can't catch them. Nebraska really, really, really needs to recruit more athletic offensive linemen ASAP. This should be their number one priority in recruiting. I said it before Frost was hired. Rebuild both the offensive and defensive lines first. We've been weak in both areas since probably 2010. That's an entire HC cycle in of itself. We can't fall that far behind like that. MR really screwed us badly in those areas, too. Frost needs time. I don't question him as a head coach but I'm beginning to doubt some of his assistants he brought with him. I'll wait another 2 years before I start to really judge him. It's fair to give a coach at least 3-4 years to get his culture, schemes, and players into his program before you can really judge the coach. Quote Link to comment

I do think Frost is putting an emphasis on line recruiting. Benhart, Corcoran and now Prochazka are 3 of the best linemen we've recruited in a while. 2 Quote Link to comment

The OL tonight looked like they were moving around in shackles. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Well Corcoran is a 2020 guy and Prochazka is a 2021 guy so they can't play yet, ha. However I do wish we could see Benhart, but I'm guessing the coaches don't feel he's ready. Hard to start as a true frosh on the OL. 6 minutes ago, FTW said: I agree. Jurgens eventually will get bigger and better. It can't be done soon enough. Archy1221
I would just go ahead and redshirt them and build for the long term. This season isn’t going to make or break the program. But to your point, get him his 4 games of action in this year in preparation for next year. 2 Quote Link to comment

Too many times tonight, guys were out of position and on an island by themselves (LB's & DB's) That is a recipe for disaster. The old adage is if your DB's are tackling the RB, you've got some big issues on defense. 1 Quote Link to comment

Don't you think that maybe this isn't the year thats been earmarked as "the year". Getting guys on campus, building them up, and then maybe getting them on the field is the thought process? I think when Frost was given a 7 year deal, it was discussed and those in the process all agreed that if in 7 things are not better, then things wouldn't get better. I don't think it will take 7 years to get things going, but I have and always have thought it would take at least 4 years to get things going. Forget about UCF going undefeated in year two of that process cause that wasn't against Power 5 teams week by week. 2 Quote Link to comment

How will they know of Vedral is a difference maker if they don’t play him? We saw it against Troy last year. There's a reason Martinez is the #1. Also the WR weren't getting quite enough speration that they needed. 1 Quote Link to comment

hskrfan4life
Also I wish we would do more pressing and D disruption on defense to the wrs Quote Link to comment
Nebhawk
I am sure Frost would also say that he is a victum of his own success while at UCF. That was great for him and UCF, but that won't and hasn't translated to the Big 10. If my memory serves me correctly, Osborne tried to pass the ball more in his first few years as well and ended up going to the power game. I think that in time, Frost will adapt to a more physical style of play as well. Power football is the Big 10, and right now we are not on that level. SEC is power football first then some finesse if needed. 1 Quote Link to comment

There are far too many intangibles to play for two or three years down the road. That worked well in the 80’s and 90’s when TO could take the local farm kids who were happy to be on the team and take three years to get them ready to play their last two. It’s becoming a little like college basketball (1 and done), get the kids in and get them on the field. Win now. And I don’t see where UCF has anything to do with this. If the young kids can produce better than the older ones, put them on the field. Quote Link to comment
