Trump's election in 2016 shocked a lot of people, but there should have been plenty of lessons to learn. Americans wanted an outsider who catered to their deeply held conservatism and traditional values, including more than a little white nationalism tucked inside the nostalgia. It was clearly a blow against runaway liberalism.

And yet....polls suggested a third-term Obama would have beaten Trump handily. Polls also suggested Bernie Sanders, a firebrand socialist, might have taken Trump in the 2016 general election.  So wait. What is America really saying?

Maybe it was about Hillary Clinton's cankles.

Dems kept Bernie out.

My friend is a hardcore Dem.  We had a conversation in te summer of 2016.  He said if Hilary loses it would be because she is arrogant.

A great article in the Atlantic, I think??, stated that people on the ground in Wisconsin, Penn, and Michigan were telling her she was losing.  She said told them they didn't know what they were talking about...they did.

It rarely generates the headlines, but the election of local judges probably affects our lives more than most other votes. DA, too.

The judges are appointed, but there are votes to retain them after some time. I am not sure how long that time duration is. I am also unsure whether CO Supreme Court justices are exempt from retention votes, but many other judges appear on the ballot. I will have to look it up. I generally vote to retain judges which is the normal recommendation. In all these years, I have seen only one judge that was recommended not to retain.

So, you want to vote out judges that upheld the constitution. Interesting.

They voted to remove a national presidential candidate from the ballot for insurrection. I don't think Trump has been charged for it yet, let alone convicted. If they could remove him for taxes evasion, or keeping classified documents at least they would have something he is charged with. Of course the latter could disqualify Biden and Pence too. I would not want Texas judges removing a Democrat candidate for something he has not been convicted of. It's a really bad move and I am concerned about the fall-out. So yes, I have their names written down, for future elections.

the trial that you want a result for is continually delayed by a trump appointed judge who got appointed to hear it but won't let it be heard

people have been removed from ballots before while not having been convicted

Based on past disqualifications under the 14th amendment, that fact has little bearing on the Disqualification Clause. Of the eight people who have been disqualified under this part of the Constitution, at least five were not convicted of any crime.
