I don't think it's all that bold. Iowa's offense is atrocious and while Wisconsin has a good running game their QB is atrocious. And I think both defenses will take a step back this year. But we'll see. Quote Link to comment

I just feel like we say that every year, like we say Nebraska has got to get better, right? And we all know how that movie plays out. It's bold to pick it until we actually see it I think. Mertz started terribly but finished fairly solid in their last 6/7 games. Iowa's offense was horrible last year and they won 10 games anyway. Seems like a great decision and like he knows a lot about football. Purdue has a much easier crossover schedule than Iowa or Wisconsin Purdue - Penn St, @ Maryland, @ Indiana Iowa - @ Rutgers, Michigan, @ Ohio St Wisconsin - @ Ohio St, @ Michigan St, Maryland 3 Quote Link to comment
Loebarth
If the bus tour boys are right, Wisky could lose all 3 and Iowa/Purdue could each lose 2. Maryland might surprise this year. Quote Link to comment

Red Five
This surprised me. The oddsmakers (and betting public?) think its more likely Nebraska gets to 8 wins than Purdue. Via FanDuel Purdue O 7.5 +125 U 7.5 - 150 Nebraska O 7.5 -120 U 7.5 +100 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Speaking of Griese, they always had to shoe-horn in how he was a Purdue alum when he would call Big Ten games for ABC/ESPN. Plus, if he was ever calling a game for his son or Purdue, there was no way he was a neutral observer. 1 Quote Link to comment

You mean his assertion that 1997 Michigan had done enough in the Rose Bowl (before the game was over) to be crowned the National Champion wasn't just an objective observation on his part???? 2 Quote Link to comment
