  1. Maybe.. I'm going on almost 2 decades of watching horrible QB play here so maybe it's just par for the course?
  2. You may be right.. Sickens me we have a QB room full of 4star QB prospects and yet none that we trust to throw a down field pass.
  3. Yep, because AM is a 3 year started and we expect more from him. We also expect more from Luke. Which one do you think has the better chance of brining more to the table in the future if we concede that they both would have looked identical in todays game?
  4. Are you saying good QB play can make a palpable difference for a team?
  5. I'd argue he didn't make many good plays with his arm, and in this scheme that is crucial. I also contend that most of his big play runs are not designed that way and are more him making something out of a broken play, which is good, but is also often happening again, because he failed to make the throw that was necessary at the time it was necessary. It isn't just this game that has people wary of his passing game, it is the whole of the past two seasons. I actually can't remember seeing him place even 15% of his passes on a dime ever. I don't think he can make the throws. I gave him pass after pass last year, but it's starting to be a fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me type thing. He in game processing is lethargic and it shows over and over on game day. When he does make the throws, they are rarely on the money and often complete misses. When you look at the entire picture, sluggish reads, poor throws in the flat, poor touch throws, poor throws over the middle, misread coverages, throwing into triple coverage, just not sure where you are seeing hope. But I'd gladly eat all of my thoughts if a decent QB, no matter who it is, shows up on Saturday.
  6. 12-27 for 125 isn't going to get it done at QB.. Missing short throws when you are backed up isn't just something to flippantly dismiss, it is when those throws need to count the most. Airmailing yolo bombs also isn't want you want from your 3rd year starter. Add it all up and it isn't going to get us over the hump. Doesn't matter what he can do with his legs. In this offense, he is doing it with his legs BECAUSE he can't get it done with his arm.
  7. Bo went out and purchased vials of Covid and put them in the team protein powder.
  8. Scott was the hire then and is the hire now. He couldn't recruit the 4 and 5 stars out of the gate, so he opted to swing for the fences on some development prospects. They are developing, but by very nature takes a bit of time. I'd say things are pretty right on track in that regard. He has a glaring QB problem, but again, his depth in that room are young development projects. We will be ok.
  9. Frost isn't going anywhere this year so everybody needs to hop back on the "he needs more time" bandwagon or we will all lose our minds.
  10. I don't think its the end yet. There are only 2 major flaws on this team, quarterback and coaching. One can be fixed in a week..
  11. This team isn't near as bad as Martinez makes it look, and that is all I need to know in order to see that we need to try something else.
  12. I hate Bo and so will happily dance on his grave any chance I get.
  13. I think if everybody is honest, PSU is still somewhat considered a red headed step child compared to the Michigans and OSU's of the world. It's like everybody agrees that PSU is Big10, but there's an asterisk.
  14. Now THAT would have been a thread worth having.
  15. Certainly caught it while being all up in Paul Chryst's a$$h@!e.
  16. Nebraska is playing Chess at a grandmaster level currently. Imagine a scenario where Wisconsin, Northwestern and Penn St cancel and then Nebraska runs the table finishing at 4-1 but not able to be considered for post season play. Now, OSU plays their schedule but gets to week 6 and game gets cancelled, but in order to maintain contention, they bring in a non conference opponent and roll their way to post season play. Now Nebraska looks like idiots for accepting the canceled games without trying for anything else. Also, the national narrative surrounding this is EXACTLY what our program needs. You can tell a wolf by its clothes, so they say. Nebraska proves how "real" the program and culture is at every turn. You don't have to love it, but you can't argue its legit.
  17. Sadly, there is no conference around that aligns better with our needs. If not the Big 10, then independent is our next best play, imo. As we've shown over the past 3 months, we are not short on gonads to consider such things.
  18. Meh, I'll take a W no matter how it comes.
  19. Disagree. You can't hold everybody else on the team accountable and then let a player here and there get by with not doing what is expected of the team. Doing so may allow for some immediate benefits but will erode the long term confidence in the rest of the team. I am sure Frost is pulling his hair out wishing his stars would just do what they are supposed to do when they are supposed to do it, but he can't cave or he looks a fool to the rest. It is his job, however, to figure out how to get them into the fold. Sounds like he is doing that, but you can't just throw out the fold because it is the easier route. We weren't winning the OSU game no matter who was out there running routes this week, and if this is what it took to "punish" the non committed and also to show the rest of the team the iron backbone of the leaders of the program, best decision of the decade imo.
  20. We are a lot better team this year.. We aren't elite yet, but we are going to be good. I think people underestimate how different this game look if we have the talent edge at even ONE position on the field.. We don't. We played every down like men for the first time in 15 years. That will go light years against mortal teams this season.
