  1. The way Alex Davis has looked, and with our lack of other OLB options currently who can stop the run, set the edge, and rush the passer, I really feel Chins needs to roll with 4 DL. Daniels, Davis twins, & Stille would be much more imposing than what we're rolling out there now.
  2. Honest question: would one? Maybe JD and Wandale would have the best shot at starting. I doubt anyone else could even see the field, let alone start...
  3. Hey guys! What a great idea! Let's take one of the biggest things that even remotely distinguishes our program as capable of turning to the top of college football and throw it down the drain... Yeah, stupid idea
  4. I'm ashamed of this team.... worst, weakest, undisciplined, piss poor performance I've ever seen. And there have been a lot of them over the last 20 years...
  5. Can everyone at least admit that Martinez is not the problem?...

    1. ZRod

      ZRod

He was never THE problem. The O line sucks. Martinez isn't as good as he was last year though.

Some of us have been saying this all year.

  6. Defense: -no one can win 1-on-1 battles, so any numbers advantage for MN, or even with an even numbers matchup, we get killed. - the 2nd tackler to the ball should be ripping at the ball, and I'm not seeing that happening. That's coaching -DL looks like they're on ice skates *the entire D looks like they left their testicles in Lincoln Offense: everything goes back to the OL. They're terrible post snap, and equally terrible pre snap
  7. The difference is that AM last year and at times this year (2nd half of Illinois) has shown how good he can be, so in my opinion, he's earned some grace.
  8. Something i think would be a cool switch-up is using our traditional jerseys but doing a game with red-on-red. I do it a lot on NC when i get a chance to play it, and i think it would look really cool.
  9. 100% agree. It's apparent that Frost is building that position group for the future. They'll keep working with Jurgens to get his snaps down, and I have confidence that will happen eventually. OL is also a group that needs to work together, and I think they're still developing their chemistry. It's a work in progress for sure, and hopefully the second half of this year we continue to see improvement from game to game. It would be great to see the offense come alive down the stretch. If they do, I think this is still a 9 win team even with all the struggles. Regarding AM, I thought he actually played pretty well. I've said this in multiple threads now, but it's worth reiterating. He had 4 or 5 crucial drops that would have either kept drives alive (JD on 1st drive, Allen dropped one, Noa dropped one) or scored (Wandale on the screen). Receivers catch those balls, and we probably win vs NW by 2 scores. The biggest area this team needs to work on is just being locked in mentally all the time. There are lapses on both sides of the ball, but especially offense. They really need to develop a killer mentality. Offense - expect to score every possession. Defense - expect to allow 0 points and/or get a turnover every possession.
  10. We had an Original Nintendo when we grew up. I'm pretty sure my brother still has it at his house in Lincoln. Still some of the best games.
  11. At this point, what other players (seniors) are expected to be pro prospects? Lamar Jackson Mo Barry Kahlil Davis Carlos Davis Darrion Daniels? That might be it, huh? Not sure if Alex Davis will get a shot.
  12. I know someone in the city justice dept, and it sounds like there's a pretty serious sexual allegation, and it sounds like prosecutors are figuring out if they have enough evidence to take it to trial. My guess is if they don't end up getting charged, they'll be back.
  13. I'm down. Unfortunately, NE might be the last state to legalize it.
  14. 1) I'd gladly shovel $80 to the University for this project. The ROI on this will be well worth it in terms of more than just money. 2) Everyone is welcome to say whatever they want, but I hope David Burn and others realize that an $80 investment won't make his opinions & criticisms carry much weight...
  15. Just got to this thread. Execution. When the plays that are called work well, fans applaud the play calling. When the plays aren't executed properly, many fans (many of them who know very little about the game) complain about the play calling. I suppose as a coach it's part of the job.
  16. Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but i thought Martinez played pretty well yesterday. If receivers catch balls that hit their hands, we probably win by 10-14. And that's in heavy winds against a stout, well coached defense. I find people bailing on AM to be insane.
  17. That game was painful to watch, but I'm elated that this team has figured out how to win close games again! That's definitely progress!

  18. Should have won in 2010 as well but we managed to s#it that one down our leg too
  19. Ohio State is as talented of a team as there is in the country. Their team speed on both sides of the ball is impressive to watch. I really can't wait to see how Wisconsin does against them. Those are 2 of the hottest teams in the nation
  20. Fun is how you describe what you watched today?
