  1. personally, I’ll watch Frost the player over and over again on YouTube. That Frost was a baller, hitter, competitor, nasty SOB. I was 1 yr younger than him in college so it was “just watch this happen” in my younger days. He brought us so many wins and so much glory, and a Natty. He earned his glory and gave his guts. as a coach, his record is terrible and he needed to be let go. Damn he was so close. So many losses that coulda been wins. I can absolutely love him and Ahman as my 2 favorite players ever, but separate him as a coach here. His legacy to me is set in stone. Winner player. Losing coach. It’s not that hard. he’s a legend if you watched/grew up when he played.
  2. Adrian is a 5th yr Sr with 4+ yrs of college ball. He should be on his pinnacle. Good for him to get a win. He also lost last week against not OU. the roller coaster w him rides on. Good luck kstate (f kstate) and AM. we DESPERATELY need to move on.
  3. Offense. the game has switched. The rules, refeeere’s and tv want scoring. We need to score 28-35 to be in games. Just in them. spread offenses and the toughness it takes to win games favors offenses. So I want a coach who values tough azz mfers nasty on the oline who can win games by scoring. coupled w a guy who can get stops when necessary with a super aggressive, attacking defense. Come what may, bring the heat. Sick of not pressuring other teams. I want a tough a$$ coach who wins or loses by using all the new rules scoring and an aggressive mean defense
  4. Urb would give us the boost we need. Set the damn fan base straight and release the curses. but then he’d be gone in like 2-4 yrs. if we win during that tenure, I’d take it. But where would he leave us standing? His protege might be great or we’d be back where we started. Or, lastly would Urb stay on for 5-6 yrs and retire bringing us back to success and just figure it out from there? I’m not against his hire at all, just wondering how long he would commit to us? Fuuuuuuck! Frost..why couldn’t you figure it out?? Limbo sucks.
  5. the players. they were recruited and built a bond w those coaches. Gotta think of the players too
  6. toughness. That’s the Formula 1 my old college coach used to say “we’re gonna hit them in the f’ing throat. Hit them under their chin. They’ll hit you in the throat. Who bleeds first will lose.” He was a nasty old school Italian man who coached great football and was rarely out-schemed. But by end of the game we usually just beat the f’ing s#!t out the opponent, scheme or not. it wasn’t fun to play for him, he was a mean mf’er. Practices were hard as nails. But when Saturday’s rolled around we took out our pent up rage and anger on the opposition. (And were well schemed). Practices were harder than the games. that’s who we need to be: Tough. As. F’ing. Nails.
  7. This town needs an enema at this point I’m more worried about all the f’ing ads that pop up on this site and ruin my experience of reading and discussing my beloved Cornhuskers. Can we fix this major problem before we muckrake what needs to be our painful history? I’m gonna watch the game tomorrow and I hope we win
  8. The “culture” we were used to got robbed from us when C***ahan got hired (and all that surrounded his hiring, top down). He literally changed the culture. Threw out what we knew. then we lost an actual “winning some championships” culture during Pelini. Even tho he won a lot of games and had some freakin great players, never won that mattered most. we been scrambling ever since to re-establish some, any, at all culture. I think Frost did better to try and put his heart into it. Just wasn’t good enough, point blank. the next is way way better set up than the last 2 guys (SF, MR) to most position groups and all the new rules set up to get stuff done immediately. *Akron Lightning f’d Frost more than we will ever admit. That one game canceled then ruined a lot. Shot the wad first game ever and never even penetrated what could have been
  9. I get this play, and it works as a misdirection. Gotta keep opposing D honest. But if we want our or left guard to pull and block the rushing opposite D end we need him to take giant step back and have eyes on his rushing end block…can he do it, athletically at all? Or is coaching/film going to teach him to get that depth and actually have that one job? These plays are fine to run, do we have the horses that can run them?
  10. Actually didn’t think about returning from overseas as an issue in what we saw today. If we beat NW and still won this game exactly like we did it might be talked about more. But since we freakin blew a lead and lost to NW it wasn’t brought up. We just blew a game and then should automatically destroy N Dakota….not so fast. jet lag is a real thing. Anyone who has traveled overseas knows it, it’s for real. My parents went to Dublin for the game and on Tuesday I texted my dad how they were feeling, he noted they were fine but just finally getting back on schedule. 2 days minimum to just go to bed/wake up on a normal schedule. So by Wed they are feeling “normal”. That’s like 2-3 days of half assed production. Not an excuse, just a reason maybe. Damn the Dublin Onside. Frost can exhale for a win, but good lord he needs to go to bed tonight and sleep. He sounds exhausted. Another week at home to prepare for a decent but inferior foe, I think we look much sharper from the kick next Saturday.
  11. I learned if we can get out of our own way we have good enough players to beat N Dakota whoever it was calling plays, we finally decided to smash a physically inferior team and we ended up controlling them. Thank God if we improve tackling and use blitzes correctly/timely we do have some decent speed and playmakers on D. Open space tackling and coverage…get that s#!t together, now. Grant is gifted and plays f’ing hard, Allen as well. A good 1-2 punch, Allen had the fresh legs and closed em out. CT is pretty good, just give him any protection. loved the option/designed runs. Should do that 3-5 times a game to keep defenses honest. o-line is mammoth. Despite too many wiffs, I did see some nice pancakes and finishing blocks on Grants run. I didn’t learn it today, already knew it: we gotta just knuckle down and control the ball, hit 3-5 big plays a game and just try to win, even if ugly
  12. Soft af mad have so much more talent than NW. can we get kids who want to actually play football instead of making really cool nice fun trending sic dope lit hashtag trending reels so fun reels that trend that are so fresh and dope with best light and swag m? I love the swag vids that show weights and squat down with sweat and chains and the young men workin real hard. nope. It looks cool as hell but it doesn’t win
  13. I have to think, nay, believe our ST problems will be at least 50% better than previous SF yrs. Do that, and we’re automatically better. dem wildcats will make this a war of attrition and slow the game down to snails pace. But we just out Athlete them, finally. We’ll breakthrough with 3-4 big plays that they can’t match cuz not as good as athletes. we’ll be down 14-10 at half then win 34-17 at the end. my bold prediction is that NW will score in the 1st half with a trick play/on-side/fake type TD. Then we’ll settle down and win the game with better players.
  14. legend is, that I know…a trainer was sent out to get different colored practice jerseys for the defense, came back with black. Threw them on all the men on the starting defense so they could call them The 1s. turns out, that defense was so solid and dominated all year, you could only be called a 1 if you earned that Blackshirt, moving forward. Was happenstance by origination but morphed into such a prideful gain within the defense, and the program at large, that anyone who could earn a Blackshirt was set apart from the others. Further myth of the (by now) well-known Blackshirt saga tells that around the 84-85 season a man copied a Rat-Poison canister with the death warning graphic to humans…a ‘Skull n Bones’ on the rat poison can underneath a Husker helmet. This identified the Legend of the Blackshirts with the official “Skull N Bones” symbol together, forever. The man hung a giant flag in the end zone during a a game with no authorization. One single picture, much like Ali over Frazier, made the Legend of Blackshirts (black practice jerseys) synonymous with the destructive Defenses (and the death symbol, Skull n Bones) that were coveted and feared across college football. Yet, revered and bled for across Cornhusker Nation. The symbols grew larger than the legend, what was once a hidden Club became a point of pride, and finally a talking point. The Blackshirt must regain it’s lore, it’s legend. What are symbols now, must become bloodshed and sacred again. To those that wear it: You wear the most dominant and undefined jersey of all time, set apart with expectations and jealousy. Guard it, own it, represent it. if I’m wrong, fill in the blanks.
  15. Watching all the clips and going after more of what’s on the interwebs that I’ve seen: 23 looks confident and strident 22 looks handy and shifty, gritty 0 looks tough as hell, not as footquick 14 looks scat but not big 29 looks undersized and slow 6 looks like needs to grow. maybe messed a player number up in there but kinda sayin what I’ve seen. 23, 0, 22 stand out for running. 14 stands out for catches n misdirection. glad we have some options.
  16. My five yr count starts this season. Obvi this is make or break this yr. good winning season, in 5 yrs we are at a new standard, skies the limit terrible clutch play and losses the next 5 are dreadful.
  17. Just watched every game from 1991 thru 2020, thx YouTube. he was the best IB we’ve ever had, methinks. Jones Phillips Brown Dubose Craig Helu Rozier Burkhead Muhamed Jackson Hipp all great but Ahman was the best of all of them. great teams he played on, great O-line, defense was killer, Osborne, etc etc….that guy Green, just glided and decimated other teams as a college RB. Perfect player in a perfect time, what beauty he brought the Red Stripe and the N
  18. The fit matters. c’mon Casey, get him the ball! ps. as soon as I type that I think “O-line” and no turnovers.
  19. My mom and dad are going. 69 and 68 yrs old. they are spending 8 days there total.
  20. I hope we win in Dublin. Let’s do that first. Iowa can suck it. But until we beat them it’s not a rivalry besides our, *my, extreme dislike for them beating us every f’ing year. It’s gonna take us beating them and needing a win against them for us to advance to the B1G ‘ship for me to feel like a true rivalry. Do that 7-8 times over the next decade and we’ll be true rivals, to me. Until then, let’s just win one freakin game at a time. By then I’ll be in my 50s and happy to be alive and lovin my Huskers….and rest easy knowing Iowa is the 2nd class program we stepped on our way back to our glory. also, f iowa.
  21. Saw him play last year. He’s really good and definitely stands out on the field as a hitter and playmaker. I’ll see him this season as well.
  22. NW should be in our pod. We would sell out their stadium every year for them moving forward. I kinda miss PSU being our crossover. Felt it was really good for us and they can be a team we could beat w a name. Iowa and Wisc are natural so that’s okay. Minn is really boring to me. Neither here or there on them. After 10yrs in the B1G we can start to realize how bad they screwed us in sched, yet…if we were competent or could compete coulda been awesome for us. Not their fault we sucked a$$ dear lord in heaven, please allow us to win
  23. Wan’dale caught 104 passes. the next guy caught 40 the next guy caught 21 Their top 3 rushers accounted for 1,800yds of ground game. Top being 1,300~ the dude produced in a pretty good offense and is leaving a year of playing college for pro, as a top draft choice. Good for him, wish we had used him better here and won with him.
