  1. Tristan Gebbia was absent from Mondays practice. First. I hope he's ok. Second, if he's transferring, that's totally understandable and I wish the young man well.

Were they not talking about running both QBs? I know that Martinez got the nod over him, but you have to name someone number one. At least for depth chart purposes, I'd imagine he would still get considerable playing time.

@ladyhawke I think what speaks even greater volumes than his produced meltdown is the type of man Herbie is day in and day out. He's one of the best college football analysts out there and does a tremendous job on the saturday night broadcast. People get upset that ESPN doesn't talk about Nebraska enough, but that isn't his fault. He couldn't help that Nebraska has been a mediocre program for 15+ years. If you've watched gameday over the last few seasons, you'll see a Herbstreit that serves as a guide for Corso, who suffered a stroke a couple years ago. He serves as his crutch and helps him narrate and find his words when Lee starts fumbling. For as much flack he may or may not deserve from a video that is however old, he is truly a standup guy and it's about time people start realizing that and quit dwelling on the past.

  3. This thing about "mitigating circumstances" for transfers wanting to avoid sitting out a year is going to cause problems at a lot of schools.  (Like the situation at aTm right now.  LINK)  The ncaa totally opened the door on this through shortsighted rulemaking.

  5. Sometimes it would be nice to have the power to purge certain employees/coaches and fans from the team/school you root for. :(

  6. So anyone here use Kik? I have it and never use it, but it may have a good use.  Instead of forming a chat room every game day, we can setup a group on Kik to discuss the games.  Whose in?

  7. Braxton Clark's "effort" had me rolling in Megan McGill's video on Twitter. I hope none of the coaches follow her!

what @Enhance said. Their fried gator is really good, if you're into that kind of thing.

Good enough that I was disappointed to find out it is a chain. I'm usually pretty picky on my cajun, but I really like BBs.

  10. So apparently some guy catfished a bunch of husker fans/media on Twitter? Claimed to be dying of cancer but is actually alive? Anyone know about this?

That's a really crappy thing to do. I hate when people use any sort of serious disease, especially cancer, as a way to seek attention. A lot of lives have been ruined by cancer and it is so disrespectful for those going through it.

@Moiraine All of them. But, based off conversation with my OSU buddy who is in the know, it sounds like no one on the board of regents wants him gone and they're willing to do anything and everything they can to ensure he stays. I think Gene Smith takes the fall.

  13. In light of the Urban Meyer cover-up news, do you think Osborne would have survived the 90's as head coach if it was in today's time of social media and hot takes? At the very least, without proper context and from the outside in, some of his behavior looks ~very~ morally suspicious.

  14. I don't know what's more shocking: that Urban didn't learn a damn thing from his stint at Florida, or that Brett McMurphy still doesn't have a job yet.

McMurphy has a non-compete with ESPN as part of his severance. I'm willing to bet he has a gig lined up as soon as that expires.

@knapplc Probably helps that we didn't have 24 hour media coverage in the 90s too.

@huKSer I dont know what to say. I feel like some of my childhood has now been tainted. There were some serious things going down on the team.

@Comfortably Numb oh, i guess i never heard that story. Granted I was born in the late 80s, like super late, like december 89, so I wasn't familiar with all the stories. If you ask me, obstruction of justice is pretty serious.

I guess what Osborne did wasn't the same, in the sense that he allowed LP back on the team but never covered up or completely deflected what occurred. Personally, I don't necessarily agree with TOs decision but, hey, that isn't my call.
