      I was starting around 10 and mowing consistently at 12 when my brother graduated and moved out. Also, learned my lesson to not let the lawn grow too high when my dad jumped all over me for not getting my chores done when asked. A 20 minute job turned into a 2hr job because he made me mow through rain and bag it. I learned my lesson and now maintaining my lawn is one of my favorite hobbies.

      I want to say I was around 12.  To say that I was overjoyed when we finally got a self propelled lawn mower would be a gross understatement.

      @Xmas32 haha I believe it. My dad held out until I moved to college before getting a self propelled.

    I agree...I wonder if that type of stuff, the 100 dollar handshakes, are a bigger thing now or if they were bigger 30 years ago.

    I love looking at AirBnB prices on college game days.  Some of the prices people charge are AMAZING!

      No, nobody has ever played goofy ball like that :P

       

      Quick story. The first day of mushball softball in Junior high the PE teacher is explaining to everyone (co-ed PE) that the ball is soft, it won't hurt you, that's why we don't need gloves. We're all in a circle around him. He knows I'm behind him and that I participate in multiple sports so he spins around, fires the mushball at my chest as a demonstration of how it won't hurt. Only problem is he hits me right at the bottom of my sternum and it knocks the wind out of me. I'm on the ground gasping for air in the typical panicked can't breathe manner....yeah, good demo coach.:lol:

      That is AWESOME!

       

      We played it in HS in PE class and it was a big deal since I was in Chicago...I can remember the girls trying to swing and hit that thing...so funny!

    Funny you say that...Popeyes is almost legendary but I am not sure why. It has decent seasoning but that is really about it.

    I think I have had Chik twice...only because I really don't think about it all that much. If there was one right next to my house and if they had a dollar menu (Do they?) I would get it more often I think.

    Sure...but if I ran a business I am selling to anyone that wants to buy my s#!t. Assuming they got the cash, because BRB brought up some good points about other hassles that can/do happen.

    Assuming you already have Saturday and Sunday off...what 3rd day would you pick if you could for another day off?  Years ago I would say Friday but now...now I would take Monday.

      Thursday.

       

      Let's say you have two weeks of paid vacation.

       

      That means you can have ten weeks out of the year where you have a 4 day weekend.  Our company gives 6 weeks of vacation after you have been here a while.  That would mean 30 weeks you have 4 day weekends.

       

      On the weeks you don't take a vacation day, you work 3, 1 off, work one to finish up a few things and two off.

       

      I could do that.

      @BigRedBuster, can't you do the exact same thing by having Monday or Friday off instead of Thursday? Then you actually have more flexibility because you can use vacation on either end of the 3 day weekend to have a 4 day weekend

      @RedDenver  You could.  I was also thinking though about the weeks where I didn't use vacation time.  I would have 3 on 1 off, 1 on, 2 off.

       

      Break up the week.

       

      For the record, I think productivity with this schedule would suck.  But....it would be nice personally.

    I never buy into MSU but they have proven me wrong. They have a lame schedule, especially in the non-conference portion.

    The Ranch Rooster is of course going to be gone because of allegations of #MeToo but the show is still funny.

    Guys, we know how this goes...some will try to temper your expectations, some will try to tell you what to expect but come each Saturday in the fall we will start a thread about the game where we all "rationalize" how the Huskers will win that game.
