    3-5. Illinois, Northwestern, and Purdue look beatable. I could also see us beating one team we shouldn't, but I'm not sure which one at this point.

    Because they are extremely short sighted and want a return to the glory days, something they feel can only be achieved with people that were a part of the program during said days.

    The best way to describe Coach Denney is that he was the Osborne of wrestling at UNO. When I was there in the mid/late 90s I helped him train his wrestlers in the school Judo program that he taught. Good times.

    Whaaaaaat???? This kind of crummy performance has been a Husker hallmark since the Solich firing. They may not have lost them all, but let's not pretend that teams the Huskers should have beaten handily haven't given them fits over the years.

    My daughter broke her tooth again playing goalie and the huskers got beat by NIU....what a crummy Saturday.....

    I used to play Payday 2 and L4D a ton, but my group lost interest in Payday 2 a few years back. It would be nice to get in with another group.

      There's the perception that those old dynasties were built from the ground up organically, whereas some of the more recent powerhouse teams (Heat/Warriors/Cavs) were dependent on superstars conglomerating for a title hunt. I don't personally have much of a problem with it but I understand the genesis of the ire.

      The Warriors were built from the ground up organically, at least for their runs in 15 and 16. But I do understand the complaints now, while I don't mind.

      True, I just think Durant's move (and their dominating success in 2016/17) made them more hateable. Such is fandom.

    They had a drop off when Switzer left, too. It's nothing new. Oklahoma isn't currently at the pinnacle that Nebraska was at when Osborne left so maybe the drop off won't be as bad as you are expecting. Also, some schools can actually handle a succession plan correctly or they can just get plain lucky. I don't think I know of a school that hasn't had a drop off after a very successful coach leaves a team Ohio State had one bad season when Tressel left. I hardly count one season as a drop off when you are considering a program as a whole. LSU win total went up after Saban left and Les Miles took over. It then went back down once Saban went to Bama. Wisconsin from Alvarez to Chryst has maintained success. Iowa maintained when Kirk Ferentz replaced Kirk Ferentz.

    Yesterday morning, my Aunt and the Matriarch of my entire clan succumbed to health conditions she's been battling for some time. She was one of a kind and will be missed.

      True, but NU has about as good a preferred walk-on program as anyone. Seems like a lot see the field and one or two end up starting every year.
