knapplc
HOLY sh#t... MEET ERIC MARTIN Yeah and if he pulled that s*** in the NFL he would be about a hundred grand lighter inn the wallet. Only Miami condones that crap Lighten up, Francis. That was a clean hit. And this is a great example of why you cannot bench Niles. You gotta take the bad with the good. I just wish his bad games were less bad. Quote Link to comment
irafreak
TO EVERYONE... that wasn't a cheap shot... learn to play football. Yeah because if Martin doesn't make that block Niles doesn't score right....cheap shot. Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
Apparently you cannot hit someone in football anymore?? Quote Link to comment
suh_fan93
That Okie St. guy was out cold. That wasn't targeting a defenseless player, but it was a helmet to helmet and should have been flagged. It most certainly WAS targeting a defenseless player. Niles was 20 yards ahead and the defender was already slowing down. I just watched the replay. Niles was behind them when the hit occurred. irafreak
I hope the guy is okay, but really... take a little longer to get him off the field why don't you... This is a BS comment. I'm a paramedic, you don't mess around with serious injuries and make them worse. I'm in the medical field too and that's why hits like that irritate me. I have no problem with a guy blowing up a reciever trying to catch a ball...but that play was over. Quote Link to comment
redout22
14-6 game just like that. Now come on D Quote Link to comment
whateveritis1224
That looked like the guy was running down the field, need to get a different angle on it but it looked like it was just an ear hole hit that happens all the time. It wasn't malicious, just how Martin plays. Doesn't mean that someone needs to talk to him about that type of stuff. Quote Link to comment
epocSoN
Apparently you cannot hit someone in football anymore?? Guess not. Lead with his shoulder.... player was still in the game... wasn't defenseless... .ran right into Eric. Keep your head on a swivel and that stuff doesn't happen. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirtsguru
Ok play over, kid looks ok for the most part (Thank God). Now lets hold em Skers! Quote Link to comment
Pasadena Husker
nice coverage Quote Link to comment
Hercules
If an OSU player did that to one of our players, everyone on this board would be up in arms. It was a cheap shot. It was completely irrelevant to the result of the play, the guy had stopped playing... I hope Bo rips into him. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
TO EVERYONE... that wasn't a cheap shot... learn to play football. Yeah because if Martin doesn't make that block Niles doesn't score right....cheap shot. It was a very hard hit, but by no means cheap. The guy shouldn't be out there if he can't protect himself on a kickoff. It's a totally different story on a pass downfield, but on a kickoff every player is "in the play." If Niles cuts that back and Martin doesn't make his block then we're griping at Martin for letting his guy tackle the ball carrier. No way was that a cheap shot. Very hard, yes. But not cheap. Trendon
I am completely against the concept of "defenseless player." I am sure we've all played the game - or been around the game - long enough to know two truisms: 1. Go 100% or get hurt 2. Play to the whistle Pop Warner. Quote Link to comment
