Nebraska would win a NC once every 3 years if..

We got leach as our offensive coordinator and gave him total control while Bo just focused on the defense. That combo would be devastate our opponents and we would average 35 pts a game while giving up 10. Leach will turn Washington State around, just watch! We should all chip to help build a pirate ship on the Missouri River to convince Leach to be our offensive coach...or just give up the bball program so bo and leach could become co-head coaches ;). (I am being sarcastic about giving up the bball program.)

I have said that for two years now, we would be unstoppable. And by the way he wouldn't be able to do those crazy things because he is not in charge of the team, only the offense. If Bo allowed him to pull those stunts he did at TT then he should be fired!! I was hoping Bo would go that way but I am sure there may be some hard feelings getting pounded by TT and then asking their old coach to help him out. :wasted

We will win national championships when the next Tommie Frazier, Eric Crouch, etc... Type of star player shows up. (Especially at QB) Without those 2 guys you could erase 3 championships. We have a talent loaded team, but I just dont see that guy on this team (Maybe Burkhead ?) I was actually impressed this year with the progress Taylor made, and maybe in another year or 2 he could be that guy. Its been shown time and time again. No Cam Newton = Auburn losing 2 or three games , no Championship. No Vince Young = Texas losing to USC and probably at least 1 or 2 more games.. Etc. etc.etc.

Great offenses that win championships RUN the ball, not throw it. When you need to punch it in from the 2-yd line, you run it. Even Oregon's offense has showed that this area is the fall-off of a spread offense. They fail to convert in tight situations. So no thanks. I'm content with the path that we are on.

Yeah, spread offenses cant run the ball...I mean, who is lamichael james? He must be a scrub if spread offenses "cant run the ball." Didnt Oregon almost win the NC last year? Didnt florida win by running the spread offense? Auburn ran the spread last year...didnt they win the NC? You do realize that Texas Tech, from 04-09, a texas tech running back averaged 6.0 ypc? Their backup also averaged at least 5.5 ypc and this is with 100-400 rushing attempts. But 5.5-6.1 ypc isnt running the ball effectively, right?

Main reason it worked was because it was shiny and new

Auburn and Florida had a lot of power in their running game with Newton and Tebow. Auburn also had Dyer and that other back, so by no means were either of these teams pure spread offenses. IMO the reason Oregon DIDN'T win last year is because they got haulted by a stronger Auburn defense who wasn't even that good. You've got to be able to get a push and run the ball between the tackles!

Did you not watch auburn? They ran the spread, the same exact style as oregons. Florida's offense was a spread offense they just had a gator heavy package. Oregon also runs a formation like that in the shotgun heavy. If you watched all 3 teams play, they all ran the same style of spread offense, so yes spread offenses can easily win NC's.

Listen, we can agree to disagree. I'm one for pro style offenses like Stanford and USC are running. You've seen this year how effective they are. Not only that, those types of offenses are effective against EVERY type of defense, whereas the spread like Leach ran will not do that. It CAN be shut down because it is one-dimensional.

If we are going to be one-dimensional on offense, I would prefer that dimension to be running the ball rather than throwing it all over the field.

Wasn't Leach the OC at OU back in 2000? Pipe dream as he's a HC and will not settle for being a coordinator. We're a lot more likely to get Mangino in here as OC, but that won't happen either. Maybe instead of worrying about the offense we should start worrying about the next DC. Is there any brilliant minds from Youngstown left out there for DC?

No thanks!

Why not? Hasnt Leach's offenses produced every year? I remember that they moved the ball better than any time we've played in 09. If it can work it texas tech, it would work 3 times better here.

Bill Callahan's Offense was pretty good too, but I don't want him back & I don't want Leach here. I like the direction that our offense is headed.
