S Marcus McWilson [Kentucky - Signed NLI]

If we do lose him I don't mind losing him to Kentucky, he will be irrelevent there and won't come back to haunt us.

You don't know he'll be irrelevant there but you are correct in saying it is unlikely to affect us.

Why, does he plan on playing basketball while at Kentucky?

Ahhhhh...... Courtney Love you need to drive over to your boys house and lay down some "N"owledge! Marcus you are being sold if you actually think going to Kentucky is a better choice than going to Nebraska! I would understand if you played basketball but seriously this is almost laughable! I hope he does go on his UK visit and the entire time he will be there he should be thinking and comparing it to his Nebraska visit. You have been committed for nearly an entire year and with 3 weeks left UK calls you up. Dont ruin your connections and the relationships you have built because a couple used car salesman have come in to your backyard. Good luck to you regardless.Send that LOI to Lincoln not Lexington!

I guess I would consider being an all conference/all american type player, which I consider he is capable of, as being relevant even if the team isn't. I guess we just have different opinions on what being relevant means.

As of the other night, I was not worried one bit regarding this recruit. I see this as Vince Marrow biting the hand that has fed him and responsible for giving him an opportunity and I don't care what anyone else says about "doing his job." No. Bull sh#t.

Really appears as if McWilson is about 50-50 and a huge reason for that is Vince Marrow.

However, if he chooses Kentucky over NU have fun. The facilities are inferior and the fan support is god-awful. Not to mention, you are playing for an unproven head coach that I would consider the 3rd best Stoops brother and there is a clear drop off from 2 to 3 on that list. Sure, you are playing in the SEC, but you are playing for (arguably) historically the worst SEC program in that conference.

I still think he ends up at NU for the reasons above. Their football facilities and fan support is nowhere near ours. Add that to his teammate already being here and we are still in good shape. I think it would have actually benefitted us if he would have went to KY on a game day.

We've discussed my reasoning for agreeing.

If he thinks playing at basketball school and that went 1-10 versus D1 competition is more worth it than he needs to be admitted. Relationships, no matter how long and good standing, aren't going make the UK situation any better. Hope he stays N but if he doesn't than it's gonna rough for him. He's is gonna styled on every week.

Probably stating the obvious here, but is this just about Marrow? I understand the relationship angle, but what about campus life, ya' know that little thing called school? The main reason you're supposed to be going to college. The entirety of the program you decided to pledge your allegiance.

Like someone else basically posted, been engaged with NU (I would hope for everything associated with NU, not just where he stands on a depth chart) for appx a year, and now a less atractive girl comes along and you're considering dumping the year long relationship to marry her because she maybe laughs at more of your jokes or some other seemingly small reason? Hmmm. (I understand I can probably post some of this about most recruits that have been committed to a specific school for a lenghty period.)

I just think its hilarious that when Marrow was still on our staff, he told Love to stay committed, because it was the best place for him to play. McWilson was stating he was committed and wasn't going to even look anywhere, despite his relationship with Marrow. In a way, I wish he would have looked at other schools before committing. Maybe he would appreciate what Nebraska has to offer and where we are heading, compared to the other schools. Nebraska is on its way up. These next 4 years, we have a very good chance to turn that corner. Can you say the same for Kentucky? Not to knock on the school or anything, but your taking a huge risk if you want to win championships or go to bowl games.

If its playing time he is worried about, I am almost tempted to just throw my hands up and tell him to go. If he came here and fought hard for his position, he could earn that role to start as a true freshman. Do you think he is scared of the competition as well and being beat out for that #1 spot?
