we don't have black in our color scheme, so I don't understand the fixation with adding black.

Not that I even remotely like the corn helmets, but they'd be better if they at least had the current logo on it. If you're going to go retro, don't go '90s retro. Put freakin' Harry Husker on there or something if you want a retro logo. That said, I don't think they were trying to go retro. I think he just didn't know we don't officially use that logo anymore. A lot of people don't seem to know that though.

edit: didnt see this helmet until now. If the defense wore these while the offense wore the pure black, then that would be sweet.

I don't much care for any of them, one of the members did a great job of changing the colors of our uniforms in the uniform thread around the time we played Wisconsin. I could live with those changes, but this are just done poorly. The colors may not be bad if they were done better and I might dig them then.

I would like to see one home game a year done in the alternate helmet and uniform.

I'm all for having an alternate every year for 1 game. Nothing too radical, just an all red or black top or a different helmet style (definitely not that Corn one). One thing that I would definitely love to see is if we went through all of our historic jerseys, or jerseys based on historic ones. Absolutely loved the jerseys we rolled out for the 300th sellout. What's so bad about doing that?
